Razor EcoSmart Cargo Review: Comfortable Electric Scooter 2023!

Date:

With the Razor EcoSmart Cargo, an electric scooter that looks really cool and takes a lot of cues from the world of e-bikes, the company that helped start the scooter craze more than 20 years ago, is expanding its selection of adult-sized vehicles.

The scooter has a lot of fashionable design elements, such as an olive green body and a spacious bamboo deck. The scooter also has a high-torque, 1000W motor and chain transmission, and it has a range of up to 16.6 miles and a top speed of 19.9 mph.

As a result, the EcoSmart Cargo is the swiftest and most potent scooter available from Razor. With this new model, Razor, a firm that primarily offers its products to children, is obviously doubling down on the adult scooter market. The business attributes the expansion of its adult product lineup mostly to rising sales, with double-digit percentage growth anticipated.

Razor EcoSmart Cargo: Design and Build Quality

Razor is extending its range of adult electric scooters. Razor is the scooter manufacturer that undoubtedly brings back memories of kicking and coasting down the block to your friend’s house for a playdate. The business unveiled a brand-new seated electric scooter on Thursday that can accommodate more passengers or stuff on the back.

Razor’s most recent effort to break into the expanding adult e-scooter market is the Razor  EcoSmart Cargo. The market for compact e-scooters was worth $627 million in 2022 and is projected to grow to $806 million by 2032, driven by factors such as the mainstreaming of e-scooters by shared micro mobility companies and the rising cost of gas, which is forcing commuters to look for less expensive and environmentally friendly forms of transportation.

The Razor EcoSmart SUP, E300 HD, and C25 are additional adult-sized Razor scooters; each has a top speed of only 15.5 mph when carrying a maximum weight of 220 pounds. Additionally, the business just announced the Razor Icon, upgraded versions of its vintage kick scooter models that will be available this month.

Thanks to its strength and adaptability, the Razor EcoSmart Cargo is exceptional. Razor claims that it has two adult riders’ worth of seat room and is built for “excellent performance and maximum utility.” Riders have a choice between an adult passenger seat with a storage compartment built in, a basket, or the adaptable rack thanks to the vehicle’s convertible rack system. Even when bouncing over difficult terrain, the 16-inch or 406mm wheels and wide pneumatic tires should make for a somewhat comfortable riding experience.

A digital display that shows speed, battery level, and speed level has five speed levels. The scooter’s rear-disc brake will stop it, and a twist throttle will start it moving. Riders are shielded from the elements by front and rear fenders. The bamboo deck has grip tape to keep your feet in place, and the padded seat is height-adjustable.

According to Ian Desberg, vice president of design and development at Razor, “with the debut of the EcoSmart Cargo, we set out to construct the most versatile and powerful addition to our adult electric scooter line up to date.” “This chic, seated electric scooter meets the varied needs of adult electric scooter users with plenty of versatility, storage, and a high-torque, powerful motor.”

Razor EcoSmart Cargo: Motor and Battery

The EcoSmart Cargo has a wide floor base, an adjustable seat, and a convertible rack system that will allow users to select between a passenger seat with a tiny built-in storage box, a basket, or a customisable rack. Just so you know, the scooter can support a maximum weight of 300 pounds.

The scooter has a 1,000-watt motor and chain transmission that enable it to go 16.6 miles and attain speeds of up to 20 miles per hour. And that ride will be incredibly pleasant thanks to some sturdy 16-inch wheels with broad pneumatic tires, claims Razor. Along with an inbuilt display for speed and battery life, the cargo scooter also has brilliant LED tail, stop, and headlight lights.

According to Josh Shave, senior director of brand marketing at Razor, “the electric scooter market has undergone double-digit growth over the past few years, meaning that there is a more diversified collection of riders seeking for a number of solutions to satisfy their different needs.” It is now simpler than ever for scooter riders to get from point A to point B, even with extra cargo or a second passenger, thanks to the EcoSmart cargo, an attractive, incredibly adaptable electric scooter choice.

The C35 is a typical $500 scooter for big boys and girls that can reach high speeds of 18 mph and has a range of about the same amount of miles, according to Razor, the renowned kick scooter brand that has typically targeted youngsters with its marketing. Additionally, Razor unveiled the Razor Icon, which the brand claims will hit shops in September. The Icon is the first electric Razor scooter, designed for adults, and it comes in blue, pink, red, or black.

The EcoSmart Cargo is willing to mature when the time comes. The Razor should provide commuters with about 27 miles per charge. Most urban residents commute shorter distances each day. Even the Razor’s full power can be recovered by long-distance riders throughout the course of the day.

The entry-level model retains the joyful nature of the Razor EcoSmart Cargo while still reaching speeds of up to 28 mph and averaging between 20 and 30 miles per charge. Although the majority of daytime riders won’t require the headlamp or tail light seen on other models, purchasers who want to pin the throttle in “Off-Road” mode might choose to install a siren for added security.

Don’t plan on traveling far if you intend to move quickly. The Razor EcoSmart Cargo only went 23 miles in “Off-Road” mode. While Mode 2 comfortably exceeded 30 miles, Mode 3 gained four additional miles. Only Mode 1 achieves the estimated 37 miles of the LCD display. The two environmentally conscious settings do little more than lessen the discomfort of the Razor’s short gearing, while modes 3 and 4 favor performance. The cost of draining the battery’s power falls on the user as a result. Because of this, the Razor EcoSmart Cargo is a fun e-bike but a poor pedal bike.  According to Razor, the 46.8V lithium-ion battery pack has a continuous run time of up to 50 minutes.

Razor EcoSmart Cargo: Conclusions

Finally, the price that you have all been waiting for. You could purchase an incredibly powerful and useful electric scooter from a company that has been in the mobility industry for decades for just $1,099. In fact, Razor EcoSmart Cargo is priced extremely competitively – far less so than some of the other entry-level options on the market.

It’s unclear if consumers will view this as a more durable scooter, an e-bike with a few elements missing, or a slimmer moped. It resembles a hybrid of those Zoomers fat-tire scooters and a RadRunner electric utility bike in my opinion. In a broader sense, it’s cool that an established company is taking a chance on a novel form factor. Please do this more often.
