ADO A16 Plus Review: What Are Main Differences Between Standard Version?

I’ve been searching for a while for a cool tiny bike to show you, and today I show you one that I loved so much that the ADO A16 Plus it days pleased or refunded since I really liked this bicycle because it is compact and comfortable.

The ADO A16 Plus comes with a 250 watt motor of absorption and when it arrives, it is limited to a top speed of 25 km/h. However, the accelerator comes from the factory not working so we obviously cannot use it in this video for demonstration purposes. It is also foldable and equipped with shock absorbers, and it is transportable very easily. But most importantly, it comes directly from the factory adapted to European legislation.

ADO is a brand-new up-and-coming player in the electric bike business, and with the A16 Plus it already appears to have achieved intriguing advances in both form and function. Although it is usually a cheap electric bike, it manages to stand out in its market niche because of the functional upgrades that ADO is adding to these new eBikes.

Unboxing

It is much more intriguing because they have been reduced to the tiniest model. The bicycle is already provided with inflated wheels, which is the first distinction between the ADO A16 Plus and ADO A20. Even though it might seem like a little issue, the fact that you don’t need to fill the tires is a huge deal. Only the pedals and saddle need to be mended. I recall that it wasn’t a particularly enjoyable experience with the A20, but thankfully, with the ADO A16 Plus, this “adventure” is now just a memory.

When the saddle and pedals are installed, the bike will be instantly ready for use, but I advise using a pressure gauge to check that the wheels are inflated to the proper pressure.

Design and materials

It has a really attractive look, is a very sporty electric bike, and is undoubtedly alluring in white. The entire bike weighs around 21 kg, and the frame is made entirely of aluminum alloy with IPX5 certification. It is quite durable and nearly flawlessly manufactured.

Although it doesn’t significantly vary from other folding eBikes, the numerous features make it more useful.

The bike has a handle that makes carrying and folding it simpler. A compact kickstand that never interferes with the pedals is already fitted, and there are some great sports fenders as well. adjustable handlebar and saddle for height.

The rear shock absorber, which makes it considerably more comfortable to operate than other electric bikes even in the range, is the actual innovation.

There are two mechanical disc brakes, two magnesium alloy rims, a front suspension fork, and two mechanical disc brakes. greater than they don’t have any.

On the bike handlebar, in addition to having articulating pedals, a strong front LED light, and a significant horn, there is a backlit display for controlling the different settings and a USB connector for charging a smartphone.

ADO furthermore provides a great free smartphone holder and an inflator (of poor quality).

Driving

The ADO A16 Plus is a convenient electric bike for city riding that doesn’t sacrifice a crucial sprint. In order to fully comply with the law, it is delivered with its top speed limited to 25 km/h, but you may simply increase the maximum power to push it up to 35–40 km/h.

The display allows you to change the engine assistance levels; the default setup has three levels. After three trips, Level 1 turns on the motor, but it only allows for 15 km/h; Levels 2 and 3 allow for 20 and 25 km/h, respectively. Once you’ve reached a particular speed using help levels 2 and 3, you may also utilize the accelerator. You may adjust everything on this ADO A16 Plus; simply review the Italian legal requirements and modify the bike as necessary.

In a city like Naples with a road surface that may occasionally be difficult to travel on and is full of slopes and descents, the engine’s power is present, and when combined with the less weight, this ADO A16 Plus functioned admirably. Excellent disc brake basic calibration, outstanding road holding, and excellent city tire viability. It has no trouble going uphill or downhill (even steep ones).

The rear shock absorber, which enables you to drive it in comfort even on roads full of unpleasant potholes, is the genuine bonus that makes the difference. The front shock absorber is carefully adjusted at the factory. The ADO A16 Plus’s quiet is its last strength; noise issues brought on by the battery’s excessive movement within the bike’s body have been resolved (it happens on many electric bikes even higher-end).

Battery and Range

ADO estimates 70 km in aided mode and 35 km in full electric. We traveled around 25–30 km in electric mode and 70 km with assistance. Of course, everything depends on the route, how many climbs you complete, your weight, whether you are carrying a hefty backpack, and other factors. In conclusion, what they claim is a result that may be attained in ideal circumstances.

The battery can be charged straight from the bike body in less than 5 hours, however it is much more convenient to remove the battery from the bike body and charge it like a smartphone.

Conclusions of ADO A16 Plus

The ADO A16 Plus is extremely comfortable in the city, and if you’re daring it can even drive outside the city boundaries but it is not advised given the battery life, handling, weight, suitable wheels, and in any event, its power. It features all the extras you’ll need for city riding, including a really comfortable seat, a front suspension fork with a big bonus, and a rear shock absorber that truly makes a difference.

With the discount code you can see below, it costs only $799 instead of the approximately $999 it would cost on Geekbuying, giving the ADO A16 Plus a fantastic quality-price ratio.

It is shipped from Europe, so it arrives without customs or taxes in a week, and there is fantastic after-sales care. This ADO A16 Plus is among the greatest options to think about if you’re searching for an electric bike for the city with no trade-offs and some really comfy features.

Fiido T1 Review: Main Tasks of Cargo Electric Bike 2022

This is the Fiido T1 Cargo Electric Bike, which is one of the greatest bikes available right now for under $2,000 (I believe it is currently on sale for approximately $1,600). For the price, this bike excels at the three primary factors for me when it comes to electric bikes: comfort, speed, and battery life.

The best thing about this bike is that it is a cargo bike, so it already has a basket. You can use this to carry groceries or other items of your choice, and it’s kind of cool that the basket stays centered when you are turning the wheels because it is actually mounted to the bike’s frame after you finish assembling it. Additionally, this bike has a really cool, attractive wood handlebar.

Fiido T1: Design

This bike received many compliments when I was riding it, but let’s finish taking a closer look at it. On the front basket, you do get a pretty big headlight that does have two different levels of brightness, so on the handlebars on the left-hand side, so on the rear rack on the right, you do get a little additional stylish look to it, but I actually like this little additional stylish look to it.

You do get a tail light that you do install yourself, but it is wired to the bike so you will be able to have it run off of the battery so you don’t have to worry about taking it off and charging it. This also has a step through design so you can step right through and go ahead and sit on this bike. Additionally, down on the center tube you will find two gear shifters. I like the big headlight because it does pretty well at night.

I believe they have it rated for people as short as five feet tall and then I think it goes up to around six and a half feet tall that this bike is going to be perfect for us, but yeah having this type of design makes this bike really appeal to a lot of people now pretty much all of the cables are buttoned up and very neatly organized now this is a bike that’s great for people of all sizes.

Due to its location on the front of the bike and the fact that you can lock and unlock it depending on the terrain you’re on, the front suspension fork will do a great job of dampening many of those bumps and other things. However, the seat itself will work as the second point of suspension.

The main seat itself is also incredibly comfortable; it’s soft, does have some cushioning, and isn’t as hard as some seats on electric bikes.

But overall, when I was riding this bike on or off road, the ride was pretty smooth. This seat does have a suspension post, which means the pole underneath the seat actually moves up and down depending on the terrain that you’re on. You also have some springs underneath the main seat.

I also like how the design allows you to rotate the seat up and insert the key next to the battery, which is necessary for operating the bike. You should be aware of this as you rotate the seat up. So I really like that these are already included so you don’t have to worry about that. Oh, and another feature I really like about the design is how you insert the key next to the battery.

Fiido T1: Battery

This is the second bike that I’ve used that has this type of battery design, and I really like it because it’s so simple to get in and out and there’s no need to worry about being particularly strong or damaging the bike’s paint. However, I do have a small complaint about the battery: There are a lot of stickers on the left side of it, which kind of detracts from the bike’s otherwise really nice appearance.

This is a very robust battery, especially for this price range, and the company does claim that you can get up to 90 miles off of one single charge. Of course, that will be using pedal assist, and this bike does have three levels of pedal assist. So yeah, they can kind of condense that in the future or just get those stickers off of there and put them on the bottom or the back or something that would be nice.

I found that this bike had excellent range when I took it out and had plenty of battery when I needed to come back in, so I think this is one of the best performing bikes at this price range when it comes to range. However, it does depend on your weight and the terrain, so you’re not always going to be able to reach that.

Fiido T1: Handlebars

Back up on the handlebars, you will find some very comfortable hand grips that do have palm breasts so they’re very nice to hold, as well as this electronic horn that does get pretty loud, and then you will find the worst thing on this bike, which is the display, which is essentially impossible to use in direct sunlight and even when you aren’t in direct sunlight it’s definitely difficult to read.

The controls for the seven-speed derailleur that comes with this bike are located on the right side of the handlebars. This is good, especially being able to go up and down those gears depending on whether you’re going up hills or just riding on flat land to test out the bike. However, this screen definitely needs an upgrade for the next version.

You can see that we’re churning up this hill right now without any problems at all, and it’s a decent little hill if you’re just using the throttle. However, I didn’t start from a complete stop; instead, I wasn’t moving at full speed either. This is not just a small hill, though; that was a decent little hill. The motor just has enough power to get you up there. The brakes are squeaking slightly, but that doesn’t happen all the time.

Fiido T1: Fat Tires and Motor

I like that these wheels don’t have any spokes in them so that when it comes to future maintenance you don’t have to worry about messing around with the spokes. Now, this bike does have 20 by 4 inch fat tires. They’re not super fat, but they’re definitely fat enough to be able to allow this bike to go on and off terrain very easily.

Now, onto my favorite feature of this bike, which is its power. It has a 750 watt motor in the back, but this thing can run and actually, in my opinion, performs better than some of the 1000 watt motors. They basically simply have a strong frame construction in the wheels and they also look really beautiful.

That’s really impressive because it means you can reach a very high rate of speed and be able to keep up with traffic. Additionally, the acceleration from a stop with just using the throttle is really strong as well. I’ve used this bike to get up to 30 miles per hour on it, and that’s just using the throttle.

However, you should use the three degrees of pedal assistance that this bike has. You can switch between them by pressing a button on the display. Although the pedal assist works well, I found that at level three you’re definitely going to feel a kick when you start pedaling, so be mindful of that.

Fiido T1: Conclusions

To really sum up how I feel about this bike, I would say that it’s one of my better all-around bikes that I currently own. Yes, I do have bikes that can go faster, I do have other bikes that are better for being off-road, and I do have other bikes that might be better for riding in the city, but this bike kind of just checks off the box on a lot of things.

I feel like I can ride this bike pretty much any day and have a great time doing it, especially with the suspension seat and just a very comfortable ride overall. The only thing they really need to fix is this screen, though, especially with that power and that speed being able to reach 30 miles per hour pretty quickly with this thing.

The Fiido T1 cargo electric bike will come very close to being the ideal e-bike for those looking to get their first e-bike or for those seeking a multipurpose vehicle, especially given that it costs around $2,000 I’ll provide a link below so you can learn more about this bike or get one for yourself.

Fiido Q1 Review: Compact Electric Scooter That Surprised Me!

Fiido Q1 Review: Compact Electric Scooter That Surprised Me!

Hello electro heads, today we have an exclusive that no one else has really seen in the uk. This is the Fiido bike. It looks like a monkey bike and it’s the new revolution in small motorcycles. It’s basically a tiny frame and you choose your components. I think this is going to take the market by storm. So the idea behind this bike is that you buy the Fiido frame for 500 pounds and then you stick whatever component tree you want on it.

This one right here is from personal electric transport in London and they’ve put a 5 000 watt motor on the rear and a 60 volt battery in here. It’s quick, it goes about 40 miles an hour and for a small bike that is really fast. It feels amazing you know the stance is right. I could probably get two people on it and it’s foldable. So I could probably get it on the underground. It’s not a big fold but look it’s a fold so we’re lucky enough to have this Fiido  bike for today and we’re going to take it around the olympic park and show you what it’s capable of.

Hopefully you can get your hands on one of these pretty soon and be one of the first in England to be riding a Fiido. So a lot of you in the electric variables community might be familiar with super 73 like rx that’s just come out and surround which make amazing motocross style electric bikes. But this is something I’m really impressed with. You know it’s a lot smaller than any of those products in my opinion if you’re in a city and you want something. You can throw in the car.

Customisation options

I can’t wait to see what people do with these customization opportunities. You can stick whatever motors you want on it, you can stick lighting systems people in Singapore have got indicators. Everything you can imagine and if you want me to make one for you just get in touch because I love making electric bikes. All right let’s go.

Fiido models

This here is a modified Fiido Q1, there is a full suspension model called the Q1s. You can buy the Fiido pre-built from their website with a 250 watt motor and a 36 volt 10 amp hour battery. But I don’t really think you should do that. If you want a 250 watt e-bike to commute around town with then have a look at the rest of Fiido’s range on their website such as the d m and l series.

Pros & Cons

I believe the best purpose for this is having fun modding it as it’s mostly a bicycle. There’s an endless amount of pre-existing awesome bicycle and motorcycle componentry. Plus with the shape of the frame made of tubed alloy you’ve got a lot of mounting options for lights body kits, extra seats ,cargo baskets, cameras and whatever else you can think of putting on.

It regarding the negative points about this bike with the amount of power people are trying to put through the drivetrain it’s got to be strong. When closely examining the strength of the frame there’s a couple of welding points that look like potential weaknesses. Although I haven’t seen anyone break one yet.

Availability

The speed controller I’m using on this video lacks high resolution control over the throttle so you’re either flooring it or you’re static which is exciting but not practical and safe. That’s an easy programming fix so I don’t worry too much about that and you can always fit an aftermarket controller which gives you endless amounts of programming customization. Try fit in a vesk for example and you’ll have more programming control than a tesla. Currently if you check out the Q1 and the Q1s on Fiido.com it says coming soon. So it’s not yet available in the UK or the us to order, but you can find it for 800 us dollars on other websites as it’s currently available on sale in singapore come on vito.

So what do i think of the Fiido so far i’m having a lot of fun this bike is really great and i’m really considering getting my own one. Starting up a little like a custom Fiido bike workshop where I can do people’s bikes up and stick vest controllers. I mean because everything’s custom on this. What do you think? Do you think I could uh carry this thing up the stairs? Is it a real commuter? Imagine my usual commute and I’m gonna carry it yeah. That’s not very comfortable, in terms of portability, you do have the folding which is quite good and that’s going to help you definitely get it in your car but this seat won’t go anywhere. That’s a solid aluminum piece right there there’s something about the form factor of this that feels playful and fun.

Some vehicles i find for you to get from a to b practically and you don’t want to be seen you don’t want to stick out but sometimes on a sunday you want to go out with your mates and you want to have a little bit of fun and have something with some real character in it and i really feel like this thing has character and so much space to just add more and more character to it. Tell us what you would do if you had this and how much would you spend on it. If i had 10 000 quid to spend on this bike i would have an absolute laugh yeah i’m pretty tempted actually.

E-bike Or E-Scooter?

One thing I found quite strange is that everyone including Fiido are referring to this bike as an e-scooter. By definition I believe this is a motorcycle as it has a seat, a bike frame and bike handlebars. The cool difference between this and the monkey bike is that it’s electric and silent. Most of the users of these bikes are in Singapore. As you can see there’s a strong custom culture out there just look at this one for example. It looks incredible. Those disc brakes could probably stop a small car. It’s got a 120 volt battery dual motors a steering.

damper making this thing a micro powerhouse. I can’t wait to see this kind of modding approach on e-scooters and electric skateboards.

Just to give you a bit of a scale comparison with an e-bike that looks like a pretty wild diy motorcycle e-bike build.

Yeah I mean this is what we’re looking at but this thing’s probably a lot quicker. You can buy the Fiido with stock electronics, which are very underpowered but nice and legal but I think this bike deserves much more than that kind of treatment. The frame is rated for 150 kilograms which is a substantial load. I’m 80 kilograms so that’s almost two of me or a big you plus a child and some shopping. This makes the Fiido very usable for day-to-day errands as well as having a laugh.

Epic fail

Well that was the Fiido bike, what a load of fun and i hope you’ve enjoyed your chance to. There don’t try and casually lean on a bike because as you see you’re going to get a handlebar in the jaw it’s not fun.

Conclusion

So the Fiido bike I hope you guys have enjoyed my little special on the feeder bike is one of my favorite e-rides I’ve ever played with and I can’t wait to see if this takes over the super 73 on and the surrounds. In my opinion this is gonna come like a big storm on the market. I think we’re entering an era with electric rideables where it’s not just about buying the rideable and riding it. Iit’s adding your own style and your own customizable elements to it to make it represent you as a person, shout out to the pet for supplying the speedo they did. An amazing job modding this bike and hopefully we will get to see a few more Fiido custom creations rolling out of their warehouse soon.

Kugoo Kirin S4 Review: What Has New Gen Of Electric Scooters Got?

1
Kugoo Kirin S4 Review: What Has New Gen Of Electric Scooters Got?

E-scooters have established themselves as an integral part of the Viennese cityscape in recent months. Not only the rental scooters from Bird, Lime and Co. line the cycle paths, many road users are meanwhile buzzing through the urban jungle with a privately purchased device. Because for frequent drivers, a purchase is cheaper in the long run than renting at the usual rate of one euro basic price and 15 cents per minute.

Such developments, which originally came from a scooter boom in the USA, have of course not gone unnoticed by various manufacturers. Numerous companies are now competing for the favor of customers with all kinds of electric scooters. Various Chinese companies are also among them, who often try to score with the price. So does Kugoo with the S4. It should be an alternative to devices like the Xiaomi M365, but cost significantly less.

Anyone looking for the model on the net should be confused fairly quickly. Because many dealers – not just Chinese importers – have it in their range. However, there is disagreement about its performance. A 350 watt motor is shown, which is 100 watts more powerful than that of Xiaomi’s popular scooter. However, there is disagreement about the maximum speed.

The figures vary between 25 and 35 km/h. Sometimes even within individual offers. An Amazon retailer indicates 30 km/h in the product name, but states a top speed of 25 km/h in the description. This creates uncertainty, because the motor vehicle law provides for a (only theoretically possible) typification as a moped at top speeds of over 25 km/h.

Kugoo Kirin S4: Design and Appearance

Incidentally, the scooter was provided by Geekbuying, which states 30 km/h. The importer sells it for around $400 and delivers it from warehouses in Spain and Poland. This means that there are no extra costs for customs, but it must be assumed that the processing of guarantee cases will take some time.

The fact that there is no corresponding information on the packaging or on the enclosed quick start guide and the manufacturer does not seem to have a website does not really help either. From practice, however, it can be said that with a body weight of 85 kilograms – the Kugoo Kirin S4 should be able to transport up to 120 kilograms – on a level surface (no exact measurement) even in the highest of the three speed modes no more than 25 km/h could be achieved. 30 km/h could only be achieved on sloping parts of the road, but that is also possible with Xiaomi scooters and similar devices.

Adjustable handlebars, stiff folding mechanism

The Kugoo Kirin S4 offers a handlebar with a hanging hook, which is height-adjustable in three stages, which allows a rough adjustment to the body size. However, the upper part of the steering column always wobbles very slightly.

The handlebar grips can also be folded in, which saves space when parking. And the folding mechanism consists of a simple pedal lever. However, the latter plus point had to be put into perspective in the test. Because after the second opening, the mechanism jammed and folding was only possible with the use of a hammer. After all, with a weight of around 11 kilograms, it is still easy to transport in its compact form.

The workmanship makes a solid impression, even if it doesn’t reach the level of Xiaomi. The rather short running board, whose “grip pad” is quite narrow, is a negative feature. Nevertheless, one stands on it safely, but as a taller person it is not particularly comfortable.

Tires and Braking

Two different tires are used. There is a profiled 10-inch solid rubber tire at the front, and a smooth tire at the rear, like many pedal scooters have. This favors the rolling properties, but ensures that the rear section of the scooter “breaks out” more easily on smoother surfaces, which should definitely be taken into account when driving.

There are two braking systems. On the one hand there is a controller for an electronic brake on the handlebars, on the other hand there is a conventional coaster brake on the rear fender. A front light with 24 bright LEDs and a red flashing rear light are used for lighting.

If you want to adapt the scooter completely to the bicycle ordinance, you still have to attach reflectors – one at the front and two on the side in white or yellow and a red one on the rear fender. There is a small stand on the front left for parking.

“Cruise Control” on board

When driving you have to get used to the fact that this scooter accelerates very jerkily at first, but then has a relatively long run-up time to top speed. In the lowest of the three power levels, around 13 to 14 km/h could be achieved, in the second level around 20 km/h and in the strongest mode, as mentioned, 25 km/h. The fact that the motor is actually more powerful than that of the Xiaomi scooter is noticeable on inclines, which this scooter can climb with significantly less power loss.

Also unusual is the “Cruise Control” mode (which cannot be switched off). After a few seconds of maximum operation of the speed controller, the scooter automatically maintains the top speed of the mode currently in use, which proves to be a practical feature. If you switch the power level in the meantime, you have to accelerate manually again afterwards so that this command also reaches the motor, which only then increases or reduces its performance.

Sometimes stubborn

After three weeks of use, a strange problem was added: after applying the electric brake, the scooter sometimes stopped responding to the acceleration controller for a few seconds. Although this does not create a great potential for danger, the circumstance definitely falls under the category “annoying”.

The driving comfort of the Kugoo Kirin S4 is mediocre, apart from the short running board. According to the information provided, it has hydraulic suspension, but in practice there is not much to notice. It is therefore better to avoid cobblestones and similar surfaces.

40km range

Information about the current speed, mode and distance traveled since the last switch-on shows an illuminated display on top of a rather ugly plastic box, which also houses the front light and five rubberized buttons. With the small, fairly easy to reach buttons, you can switch the performance mode, turn on the light, switch between the display of the current and total distance covered (50 kilometers as part of the test) and you can also ring the bell. This only consists of a not particularly loud beep, which is why installing a separate bicycle bell seems worth considering.

With one battery charge, the Kugoo Kirin S4 should be able to travel up to 40 kilometers. This may be possible if you only drive in the most economical mode. But if you mainly use the middle level, it’s over at around 25-30 kilometers. For a full charge, the scooter then has to be fed with electricity for five to six hours. The charging connection is attached below the folding hinge, a rubber cap protects it from dirt and moisture. The S4 is said to meet the IP45 standard, which means it is considered “rainproof”.

Kugoo Kirin S4: Conclusion

The Kugoo Kirin S4 is a solid scooter with a comparatively powerful motor, which is suitable for different body sizes thanks to the adjustable handlebar height. Although the workmanship does not correspond to the level offered by the Xiaomi M365, for example, it does not give any cause for concern. After several weeks of testing, there were no relevant signs of wear and tear on the device.

Driving is fun once you get used to the somewhat idiosyncratic acceleration behavior. The integrated “Cruise Control” is a useful addition. Every now and then, the test device briefly refused to cooperate if you wanted to accelerate again immediately after braking. In addition, the electronic bell is hardly usable. As with other scooters, the range is well below the specifications, but exceeds that of the Xiaomi model despite the more powerful motor.

Anyone looking for a budget-friendly e-scooter could consider the S4 – if it weren’t for the unclear “design”. Because there is no uniform information on the maximum speed and official manufacturer information could not be found, it is simply unclear whether it is still considered a bicycle in Austria and therefore allowed to take part in road traffic. Also below you can watch a video review about Kugoo Kirin S4.

Ado D30C: Unboxing

The large box that brought it to us contained a surprise: the bike, partly disassembled, was enclosed in a gangue of expanded foam which certainly protects it very effectively against shocks but which is also quite painful to skin, not to mention the shreds of foam fluttering happily.

Unless you are a barbarian tearing everything off with your bare hands, it will take a good fifteen minutes to extract the bike and its elements from its protection, but let’s not complain at least it was extremely well protected! The assembly is then not very complicated, the essentials being already in place and only asking to be firmly fixed or screwed.

The manual was generic and did not correspond exactly to our model, but the essentials were explained. The trickiest point is installing the front wheel, taking care to slide the brake disc well into the shoes, without anything touching or rubbing.

We strongly recommend tightening everything that can be tightened, from the handlebars to the saddle and the crankset, to avoid unpleasant surprises afterwards and play in the elements.

The battery charger, of course, but also the spanners and tightening tools for mounting the bike and servicing it. We will also find a bicycle pump and a support for the mobile phone which are offered. On the other hand, the manufacturer makes the economy of the mudguards.

Once everything is assembled, tightened and loaded, it’s time to take the tour of the machine!

Ado D30C: Design and Appearance

The ADO D30C electric bike is a versatile model that aims to be able to take you everywhere with a certain riding comfort. It sports a good-sized aluminum alloy frame that does not bend, which will require having enough space for storage.

The handlebars have a fixed height and it is at the level of the saddle that you can adjust the seat height to obtain the best riding position. The battery is housed in the lower tube of the frame and can only be removed from its location using a key provided.

It can be charged using the connector hidden under a waterproof support that is accessible whether the battery is attached to the bike or not. You can therefore charge it directly or remove it and charge it at home.

The electric motor is installed in the hub of the rear wheel, with the Shimano 9-speed transmission. The weight is thus relatively well balanced on the rear two thirds of the bike.

The wheels are of the 27.5 x 1.9 inch type and are therefore suitable for a versatile road and path profile and it will remain more risky to venture on very tortured tracks. There are front and rear disc brakes with hydraulic braking for greater efficiency.

Note that the bike does not include a rear light. Only a red reflector is present under the saddle, in addition to those, yellow, on the wheels.

At the front, the fork will provide cushioning which can be deactivated via a latch depending on the terrain and riding habits. There is a front light that can be activated from the handlebar control panel (a long press on the upper button).

For piloting, a central screen provides a set of useful information. The display is easy to read in bright light and will include speed, distance traveled (that of the current trip and total mileage), time, power assist level (from 0 to 3) and remaining battery capacity. battery.

This last measurement is estimated in real time: climb a difficult hill with the highest level of assistance and you will see the percentage melt, land on the flat and the value will immediately go up.

The electric assistance is activated with the buttons on the left of the handlebar, the central button being used to modify the information displayed or to turn on / off the screen. Level 0 cancels the assistance and you end up with an unassisted bike.

On the right is the management of the derailleur gears, from 1 to 9, with the traditional triggers to change gear ratio. A small bell will complete the equipment.

Overall, the bike looks well finished and inspires confidence. The seat is quite comfortable with a relatively soft saddle and adjustable front suspension. The position is of the 60 degree type with the back slightly inclined and the weight moderately carried on the forearms and wrists.

And since it offers electric assistance, let’s talk about it!

Ado D30C: Electric assistance

First of all, the ADO D30C model is a VAE (electrically assisted bicycle) without autonomous function. It will therefore be necessary to pedal to move it forward and there is no mode to make it roll on its own like an electric scooter.

The electric motor, calibrated for the European standard (250W, 25 km/h max) is also controlled by a controller which activates it and regulates its power according to several parameters, such as speed, pedaling effort and the level of assistance required.

In the case of the D30C, you have to pedal a little and pick up speed slightly before the electric assistance kicks in and gives a real boost that allows you to effortlessly reach around 10 km/h.

If the movement is accompanied by pedaling to maintain speed, the electric motor remains activated until the speed limit is reached (assistance 1: 15 km/h, assistance 2: 20 km/h, assistance 3: 25 km /h). If not, support stops.

Likewise, the assistance will cut out if the speed limit is exceeded and will resume when the bike slows down if pedaling is maintained. This way of working aims to spare the electric motor and the battery, and to provide good autonomy in VAE.

Unlike other VAEs with linear electric assistance, here we have a very clear starting impulse then pedaling assistance depending on the level of assistance chosen. This may surprise a little at first (you feel the bike “go away” on its own for a few seconds), but it turns out to be very pleasant to use.

For hill starts, there is even a start aid: a long press on the lower button of the control will trigger the short impulse when starting with the bike stationary to help take the initial speed. No need to force the pedals to get started, the ADO VAE can take care of it!

In all cases, the assistance is interrupted beyond 25 km/h, the maximum speed authorized for electric assistance according to European standards. It’s up to you to go faster, but it will then be with the sole strength of your calves!

Then, the piloting is that of a classic bicycle, with the management of the derailleur speeds thanks to the two triggers. The presence of 9 speeds is a classic for tackling the majority of terrains.

On our test model, the shifting is smooth except for a few creaks between 4th and 6th which will probably require a few small additional adjustments.

Note that the assistance can be completely deactivated (assistance 0), transforming the VAE into a pure and simple bicycle… the weight of the motor and the battery in addition!

Ado D30C: Driving

It only takes one or two sessions to fully understand the control of the D30C bike, between the different levels of assistance, the impulses and the speeds of the derailleur. But what about autonomy?

The manufacturer announces a good autonomy of 90 km for its VAE but this will of course depend on many factors: the weight of the user, the terrain, the slopes, the ambient temperature…

As part of our test, the surrounding environment is essentially made up of cycle paths with relatively gentle hills and a few steeper slopes. With this mix, and mainly on paved roads, assistance 1 was predominant, with the transition to intermediate assistance on the climbs, which made it possible to climb at a speed close to 20 km/h without great effort, and occasional assistance 3.

70 km further, with discontinuous use of electric assistance and a rider who still weighs 90 kg, the VAE still announced 30% autonomy in these conditions of mixed use.

However, it should not be hoped to go much further unless you stay in areas where electric assistance is weakly required. In addition to the battery indicator which appears in red and calls for a recharge, the battery power runs out very quickly on the slightest steep slope, to the point of interrupting punctually and creating jerks .

The percentage of the battery then collapses to less than 10% after a few minutes of pedaling and you end up finishing the slope like on a classic bike.

With its nine speeds, the bike makes it possible to manage a comfortable pace even without assistance, which is not necessarily the case with a bike with a 7-speed derailleur where it may be in your interest to maintain the electric assistance under hard to reel at the speed limit.

In other words, unless you constantly face slopes that would require you to maintain the pedaling aid permanently, the D30C bike will allow you to take quite a few walks before having to be recharged or to consider making long trips without fear of power failure.

Be careful all the same, in assistance 2, the autonomy calculated in real time tended to be halved compared to that displayed at the first level of assistance and as for any electric vehicle, it will be necessary to know how to anticipate the energy reserve according to the effort provided and various parameters. Still, the autonomy of the VAE seems very comfortable here.

In fact, riding becomes very pleasant and extends the possible range compared to a conventional bike. The slopes, even steep ones, are easily crossed and, if you still have to pedal a minimum, the effort is greatly reduced (unless you absolutely want to go as fast as possible), even if it remains possible at any time. to complicate things for the most athletic.

Ado D30C: Conclusion

The D30C electric bike from A Dece Oasis (ADO) is the little brother of the D30 model, but like it offers a nice experience as an e-bike.

With its non-folding frame, its generous dimensions and its VTC profile, it is not exactly made for pure urban mobility use and is rather aimed at walking or even long-distance hiking.

If it will be able to show its limits on all terrain, which would require more equipment and suitable tires, the D30C is as comfortable on the road/cycle track as on paths that are not too chaotic with its front suspension and its comfortable saddle while offering safety thanks to its hydraulic disc brakes that will allow short emergency braking.

This is a real bike for which you will have to pedal to move forward and it is even possible to completely cut off the electric assistance. The on-board computer offers good readability, even in broad daylight, and includes a number of useful information, in addition to the remaining autonomy.

The 90 km of autonomy announced in electric assistance will depend on many different factors, but with a sturdy 90 kg on the back and a choice of routes not imposing a permanent and too violent recourse to electric assistance, we can reach the hundred kilometers actually traveled before worrying about having to recharge (climbing Mont Ventoux will be another matter!).

We hardly regret the absence of a rear light (there is only a simple reflector under the saddle) and mudguards (that can always be used), but we appreciate the attention of the bicycle pump and of the smartphone support that are offered. Too bad the on-board computer does not offer USB connectivity to power it at least occasionally and does not allow the export of recorded data for long-term monitoring.

These are just a few points of detail for an overall very pleasant experience and the promise of rides to areas that would require significant effort on a classic bike, even if nothing prevents you from cutting off the electric assistance and going there.

You will be able to buy the ADO D30C / D300C e-bike currently at the discounted price of $1819. It is available in two colors gray and silver. Shipping is free from Europe in 7-10 days.

Eleglide M1 Plus Review: Affordable Electric Bike In 2022?

Eleglide M1 Plus Review: Affordable Electric Bike In 2022?

The Eleglide M1 Plus Gen 2 offers pretty much everything you would expect from an eMTB for just $800.

We already liked the first-generation Eleglide M1 Plus very much in the test. We’ve driven it about 150 kilometers since then. Our experiences flow into this test. Because the two models are largely identical in construction. At one point in particular, Eleglide improved a lot. Because the Eleglide M1 Plus Gen 2 has a real on-board computer with a display. The predecessor had to make do with a few buttons and LEDs. In addition, the suspension fork is now hydraulic and the handlebars are a bit wider. Unfortunately Eleglide doesn’t have mudguards this time. The predecessor still came with simple plastic protectors. However, these did not reliably keep water from splashing up anyway. Mudguards can be bought later for a few dollars.

Its price is as attractive as ever. The improved Eleglide M1 Plus costs $800 at Geekbuying Shipping is from Europe, so there are no customs duties. The Eleglide seems to meet all the requirements to be allowed to drive legally on European roads. A throttle is included in the scope of delivery, but should not be installed in this country.

We show more about road approval, installation, drive and battery of cheap e-MTBs in the guide to e-mountain bikes under $1500: This is what you need to look out for with cheap off-road e-bikes. Eleglide M1 Plus: Design and Appearance

The bike comes in parts. First, the e-bike rider has to assemble the handlebars, the front wheel, the pedals (note left and right!) and the front light. The appropriate tool is included. The box also contains a bracket to protect the gears on the rear wheel and plastic mudguards. Before the first ride, buyers should retighten all screws. In our case, we also had to adjust the brakes, the same applies to the gears.

We like the looks of the Eleglide M1 Plus. The matt black aluminum frame is narrow. The manufacturer prints many small gray and yellow crosses on it, together with the striking yellow Eleglide logo. This pattern is also continued on the battery, which sits on top of the frame and is not integrated.

On the other hand, the cable management is not pleasing at all. When riding through the undergrowth, riders could quickly get caught in the tangled cables in front of the handlebars and damage the e-bike. Before the first ride, buyers should bundle the cables with cable ties or something similar.

Eleglide M1 Plus: Handlebars

The handlebar looks comparatively tidy. We would not have noticed that it has become wider with the new version. We got along well with the shorter variant. There are the usual brake handles for the mechanical disc brakes front and rear. The levers for controlling the 21-speed Shimano gears are also on both sides. There is also a small display that reveals the gear engaged. There is also a bell on the right side.

The new bike computer with display upgrades the bike considerably compared to its predecessor. Now the driver can see how fast he is driving and how far he has already driven. There is also a display of the remaining battery capacity in bars and the selected assistance level. The driver accesses the options by pressing and holding the plus and minus buttons. There he can determine many parameters, including the maximum top speed.

The front light is sufficiently bright, although not as bright as the front light of the Ado A26. A rear light is not included in the package, buyers should order this for a few euros. If you are interested in the topic, we recommend our big guide: Bright bicycle lights with and without battery from 15 euros.

The saddle is sufficiently soft and still doesn’t look like that of a pensioner’s bike. A quick-release fastener fixes it at the desired height. The pedals are made of plastic, but they make a much better impression than the pedals on the Ado A26.

Eleglide M1 Plus: Drive

The Eleglide M1 Plus Gen 2 with its 27.5-inch tires did not look bad in the field test. Its components are not high enough for the tough conditions of a fast downhill ride. However, it is always suitable for taking a curb in the city with momentum.

Despite the inexpensive components, unlike many other Chinese e-bikes, the Eleglide M1 Plus allows you to ride a technically demanding forest trail and also overcome certain inclines without having to dismount. This is mainly due to the decent 21-speed gears. The fact that the motor starts to push along without a minimum speed also helps. This is anything but normal. For example, the motor in Ado bikes such as the E-MTB Ado A26 only provides support from 7 kilometers per hour.

Another improvement compared to its predecessor concerns the suspension fork, which is now hydraulically sprung. This is a real asset, especially on wild trails. It also no longer bangs so unpleasantly loud back into its original position. You can fix them if you want. Our test driver is 186 centimeters tall. However, buyers of the Eleglide M1 Plus should not be much larger.

The electronics of the e-mountain bike are simple. It does not have a torque sensor. This means that the engine only starts to push after about half a revolution and continues to run for about the same time. The run-on can be stopped by applying the brake. Even if the delayed starting of the engine is annoying at first, in our experience you quickly get used to it. You get used to the fine manual motor control via the gas ring, which is included with the e-bike for optional installation, even faster.

How long does the battery last?

The Eleglide 27.5 inch M1 Plus has a large 450 watt hour battery. That’s more than most other e-bikes in this price category offer. Eleglide speaks of a range of 100 kilometers. Realistically, that’s around 50 kilometers on a level road, good weather, around 80 kilograms of payload and mixed engine use.

The battery can be easily removed using the key supplied and taken into the apartment to be charged, while the e-mountain bike stays in the basement. Alternatively, the battery can remain on the bike for charging. The Eleglide M1 Plus comes with an 84-watt, 2-amp power adapter. It takes almost five hours to fully charge.

Eleglide M1 Plus: Price

The Eleglide 27.5-inch M1 Plus Gen 2 costs $800 at Geekbuying. The Eleglide M1 is cheaper again. It costs $700, but has a weaker battery and smaller wheels. Otherwise, the similarities to the M1 Plus tested here are high. For both e-bikes, Geekbuying promises fast delivery from a European warehouse. Customs fees do not apply.

Eleglide M1 Plus: Conclusion

Anyone who spends significantly less than $1000 on their e-mountain bike does not need to reckon with high-quality components. This is also the case with the Eleglide M1 Plus Gen 2. Nevertheless, Eleglide has improved the new M1 Plus in key areas. So it now offers a display and a reasonable suspension fork. The E-MTB is also fun off the beaten track. This is also due to the proper gear shift and the direct motor support in five stages. The Eleglide 27.5 inch M1 Plus is a reasonable e-mountain bike for its low price and better than more expensive models like the Ado A26.

We show more about road approval, installation, drive and battery of cheap e-MTBs in the guide to e-mountain bikes under $1500: This is what you need to look out for with cheap off-road e-bikes. Fiido D11 Review: Key features, Pros and Cons of E-bike in 2022

Before starting the review of the Fiido D11 eBike, an important and necessary clarification must be made. The electric bike comes equipped with an accelerator complete with cruise control. This means that, with current regulations, it cannot legally circulate on the roads. Fortunately, there is a quick and easy way to make it legal. In fact, the throttle cable can be disconnected by deactivating this control. To be even safer, if you want you can also cut it without any problem and it is an operation within anyone’s reach.

In this way, the Fiido D11 becomes a normal pedal assisted bike and can circulate safely on the roads. At this point we start with the review.

Fiido D11: Design and Ergonomics

Pedal assisted folding bikes are especially appreciated for their ease of use in urban environments. They are not two wheels to travel tens of kilometers at a time but are just fine to move easily to go to work, with the advantage that they can then be easily folded to be stored in the trunk of a car or parked in a small box.

In recent weeks I have tested the Fiido D11, an interesting model in many respects since on paper it promises a lot, including an almost “record” battery life for the category, that is up to 100 km. I have to be honest, despite Fiido being a well-known brand on the market, I had doubts about the quality of the product but in the end I had to change my mind about some things. Not everything is perfect and there are several things that can be improved but in the aspect I was most afraid of, the assistance, at least in my case, Fiido did a good job. But we’ll talk about this later.

The eBike arrives almost completely assembled. What you will have to do is take it out of the box, insert the seat and mount the pedals. The package also includes a mini manual, the power supply, an adapter for English plugs and some always useful tools. Once extracted, it really takes 10 minutes to make it ready for use. One detail should be noted: the battery is integrated into the seat post tube and to connect it to the engine, the rear spiral cable must be inserted into the appropriate socket. Let’s see the main specifications.

To all this is added that in front there is an LED light that can be activated by a special command on the handlebar (there is also an electric bell). Behind, on the other hand, there is an LED that always stays on when the power to the bike is started. On the handlebar, on the other hand, the display providing the main usage indications is located on the left side.

Being a folding eBike I was very curious to try the system designed by Fiido which uses a mechanism on the frame that should allow you to quickly open and close. It actually works well and allows you to fold the bike in a matter of seconds. To facilitate the process also the hook that allows you to bend the steering tube in a few moments. The whole system seems robust but only with time will it be possible to understand if there really will never be problems. It’s just a pity that the pedals can’t bend. There is no system that holds the bike together once folded: you will have to equip yourself with some amateur solution if you plan to transport it for important routes.

If the need is to load the folded bike in the car, the suggestion is to remove the saddle with its tube that contains the battery to remove several kilos and thus make the maneuver easier.

Fiido D11: Impression

Ok, so far the eBike specs, but how does the Fiido D11 really look in your hands? As said, I was a bit wary but compared to other products in this “made in China” category, the step forward is evident.

Aesthetically, the Fiido D11 is pretty, thanks above all to the particular shape of the frame and the blue color. The bike appears well assembled (the welds of the frame are however a little too visible in some points) even if some constructive choices could be revised. For example, there are a little too many cables in front and also quite “exposed”: they suggest that they can get entangled somewhere, perhaps when you park your bike in the crowded racks. Fortunately, these same cables are then routed inside the frame and disappear from view. Nothing serious, especially considering the type of bike and the price range.

The bike also has, as mentioned before, a small display that allows you to view speed, battery charge status, assistance level and distance (but only from the last start). Very simple, it reads fairly well as long as there is no strong ambient light. Now let’s talk about the element that characterizes the eBike and that is the seat post tube with the integrated battery. A particular choice that has pros and cons. The main advantage is that the tube can be easily removed and then taken home or to the office to recharge the accumulator. As already mentioned above, it can be easily removed to make transporting the bike by car easier.

On the other hand, in case of theft or damage, the cost of the replacement will obviously be very high since the eBike battery is inside the seat post tube. Furthermore, there are two problems that must be reported, the first of which required assistance from the assistance.

Fiido D11: Assistance

Before we see how the Fiido D11 really goes, let’s talk about assistance for a moment. When I received the bike I immediately took a test ride, just a few kilometers to see how it went on the road. Well, after about 5-6 km I heard a noticeable crack. I stopped but didn’t notice anything about the gearbox, brakes, chassis or engine. The manufacturer declares that this model carries up to 120 kg. I am not light, about 100 kg x 183 cm, and therefore given the specifications I did not expect any particular sealing problems.

On the way back, I put the bike in the box and I found the “problem”. The seat tube had “opened” a few millimeters. The tube, in fact, is not a single piece and at the height of the junction between the two pieces of which it is composed it had opened slightly. This did not please me at all and it made me fear for the quality of the product. After contacting the assistance (a couple of emails were needed), I was guaranteed that a new piece without the defect would arrive without any problem.

Meanwhile, I was told that the bike could be used without any problems. To all this it should be added that on the D11 website there are two notes that speak of this problem.

This is a defect known to the manufacturer and related to one of the very first batches of bikes. All those who run into it can safely request the replacement of the defective tube. People often talk badly about the assistance of this kind of product but in this case, despite the “distance”, everything went well.

Fiido D11: Driving

Adjusting the seat height is no problem. The manufacturer has also included a graduated scale with a minimum and a maximum. The strange thing is that the minimum level indicated is fine for a person of 180 cm in height. Theoretically, this would leave shorter people out. Fortunately, the seat can be positioned lower. The head tube, on the other hand, cannot be adjusted in height.

However, finding a good position in the saddle is not difficult at all. To “start the bike” it is necessary to carry out two operations. The first is to turn on the power by pressing the button on the seat post and the second is to turn on the display on the handlebar. 3 are the levels of assistance provided. The first assists up to about 10 Km/h, the second up to 15 Km/h and the third up to 25 Km/h. The maximum speed is reached only by insisting a little with the pedaling. The best cruising speed with Level 3 is 21km/h when you have maximum support. Pedaling with the engine off is not very convenient since it offers a good resistance.

The suggestion is to always use assistance level 3 and an intermediate report. The Fiido D11 exhibits good agility on the road. It is a foldable eBike, this must always be remembered, but it must be admitted that it is handled well. The engine offers decent thrust and is also a bit noisy but once you reach cruising speed you can pedal easily. Personally I have covered about twenty kilometers in a row keeping the 21 Km/h constant in all fluency.

If you have to tackle very short climbs, no problem as long as they are not demanding. The Fiido D11 is a bike for flat roads, not hilly ones. Nothing to say about the change, precise and fast. Also good are the disc brakes that work well in classic city situations as long as you don’t jump down steep descents where they struggle a bit. Small criticism for the tires. In curves, especially if they are fast, they don’t offer a great feeling but nothing serious. Negative note on comfort if you have to deal with long stretches on rough roads.

The absence of a front shock absorber is felt a lot in these contexts. And here is the second problem of the saddle, even if not serious. The seatpost tube tends to go down a little while pedaling, especially if you are tackling somewhat bumpy paths. A nuisance that forces you to reposition it at the right height after some time. It can be solved by working on the screw of the closing hook and perhaps adding a small thickness.

But how much autonomy does the bike really have? Not 100 km as stated, at least in my case. It is known that with eBikes the maximum distance depends on many factors including the route, the weight of the cyclist and the level of assistance used. Starting with the battery charged, I traveled about 70 km using assistance level 3. Not bad anyway.

Fiido D11: Conclusion and Price

I got along well with the Fiido D11. Aside from the seat tube issue, the bike performed well. Indeed, I would add that it has always been pleasant to ride. It is not an eBike to run with but for its target use it is more than adequate. Let’s talk about the price for a moment. On Aliexpress the bike currently costs $999. Surely there are some interesting technical solutions that are worth a price increase compared to the other Fiido models but for a non-Premium folding one, exceeding the $1,000 threshold is too much.

For those interested in buying it with our coupon it is possible to have it at a price of $650 euros, a cost certainly more appropriate to the contents of the product.

Ado A20F+ Review: What To Expect from an E-Bike with Fat Tires?

The Ado A20F+ makes a real impression with its fat bike tires. The test report shows whether the purchase of the e-folding bike, which costs around $1000, is worthwhile.

When Ado was launched in 2021, the young and ambitious company looked set to become the new Fiido. Back then, Fiido was the measure of all things when it comes to cheap e-folding bikes from China. This is shown by their ingenious Laotie x Fiido D4S Pro.

But disillusionment soon followed. Neither the Ado A16 nor the Ado A20 could convince us completely. Difficult basic requirements for the Ado A20F+ discussed here, which basically corresponds to a drilled-out Ado A20.

After the Ado A26 also disappointed us, at least the Ado D30C was able to reconcile us somewhat with the brand. The Ado D30C is a really good e-mountain bike with lots of great components at a fair price. The test of the Ado A20F+ shows whether the upward trend will also continue with the foldable e-fatbike. One thing right away: Ado didn’t manage to adapt the A20F+ to the legal requirements. In Germany, for example, it is only permitted on roads without road traffic regulations and on private property.

 Ado A20F+: Unboxing

The Ado A20F+ comes well packaged in a large box. Unpacking and assembly is done without any major problems. The buyer only has to screw on the pedals and attach the handlebars. The instructions are helpful, even if basic cycling knowledge is an advantage. The necessary tools are included. However, their quality is rather inferior. Ado also includes a smartphone holder for the handlebars and a very simple air pump with the A20F+. The Ado A20F+ does not have a mudguard.

Ado offers the A20F+ in black and white colors. We have the black version. We really like the look of it. The entire e-bike is finished in matte black. This also includes seat post, rims, headlight, gear crank and so on. Almost the only bright elements are the metal of the suspension fork and the large safety lever as well as the eye-catching A20F lettering on the frame. We don’t like the cable management as much. Ado bundles all the cables on the handlebars and runs them down in a big arc until they disappear under the frame.

 Ado A20F+: Design and Ergonomics

Like the A20, the A20F+ is also suitable for tall drivers. This is not a matter of course for e-bikes from China. The handlebar can be adjusted in height and can be raised from 115 to 130 centimeters if desired. The seat post is also exceptionally long. Here the driver can choose between a saddle height of 83 to 112 centimeters. That should be enough for the very tallest among us.

When unfolded, the A20F+ measures a maximum of 174 x 53 x 130 centimeters. A handle helps carry it a few feet. It’s not a lot of fun, after all, the A20F+ tips the scales at a proud 29 kilograms.

If you want to stow it away to save space or use it for free public transport, you can fold it up. To do this, you first put on the pedals, fold the frame and release the safety lever on the handlebars. You can save more centimeters by retracting the handlebars and removing the seat post. Folding takes maybe a minute and reduces the dimensions to 101 x 49 x 71 centimeters.

 Ado A20F+: Features

The handlebar is relatively narrow and looks pretty overloaded. The handles are ergonomically shaped, but Ado uses a plastic that diligently emits softeners. Even after a short tour, your fingers stink of plastic. On the left sits a unit with two buttons for the lights and horn. The horn is very loud, drivers should also hear it. In Europe it is not allowed. Too bad Ado didn’t bet on a simple bell.

Next to it is the on-board computer, which we have already seen on many e-bikes from China. It is backlit and clearly shows the speed and remaining capacity of the battery. In addition, buyers can display the total mileage, the kilometers currently covered, the voltage or the trip time. The plus and minus buttons select the support level. A long, simultaneous button press on plus and minus leads to the settings menu. In addition to the on-board computer, there is also space for a USB-A port for charging smartphones, for example. On the right side of the handlebars, next to the handle, is the simple 7-speed gear shift.

The front light is very bright and depends on the circuit. Ado also includes a battery-operated rear light with the e-folding bike. However, we do not manage to clamp it firmly in the holder provided for this purpose. Who races over hill and dale runs the risk of losing them.

Ado A20F+: Drive

Admittedly, we are a bit spoiled when it comes to e-folding bikes with fat tires. Because only recently we tested the Laotie FT100, which also masters difficult terrain with flying colors. This is primarily due to the excellent suspension of the Laotie FT100. On the one hand, this is not available on the Ado A20F+ and, on the other hand, it is bad. The A20F+ offers no suspension for the rear wheel and the suspension fork at the front is set much too hard. However, you can adjust their hardness with a large Allen key.

Luckily, the A20F+ has 4″ wide fat bike tires on the 20″ wheels. These ensure that you can at least ride on country lanes at high speed with the e-bike. However, we recommend not turning on trails.

The electronics on the Ado F20F+ do not convince us. On the one hand, the sensor reacts to our pedaling slower than on many other current e-bikes from China. On the other hand, the 500 watt motor (nominal output) does not push at full power, but starts out slowly at first, before developing its full power after about three seconds. That doesn’t bother us with the Ado D30C. However, this makes the A20F+ feel less direct.

As is so often the case, the mechanical disc brakes are not perfectly adjusted by default. After we screwed on them via the supplied Allen key, they were fine. The gear shift works well in the test. However, seven gears are not enough to be able to shift down far enough on steep mountains, for example.

In the delivery state, the throttle grip does not initially work. If you want to activate it, you have to switch from Pedal Assist Mode to Hybrid Drive Mode. To do this, you first have to apply the brakes when the e-bike is switched off, turn the throttle grip and switch on the A20F+ at the same time. After ten seconds you can release the brake. If you now switch to the third support level, you can also use the gas grip. Switching back works equivalently, just without tightening the throttle grip.

Ado A20F+: Battery

The battery is in the frame and has a capacity of 374.4 watt hours. It can be removed using a key so that it can also be loaded outside the frame. Ado claims to be able to travel up to 70 kilometers with one battery charge. However, this was measured under ideal conditions. This includes a light rider, a straight tarmac route, warm weather and no breaks at a moderate speed.

We are also unable to provide any precise information on the range. There are just too many factors involved for that. However, we assume that a driver weighing around 85 kilograms can travel 35 kilometers on an average journey before the battery has to be connected to the mains again.

Conclusion

The Ado A20F+ makes a really good visual impression and is also attractively priced. When driving, however, you quickly notice that Ado has been saved in some places. The handles stink, the suspension fork is too hard, the rear light doesn’t hold up and there is no mudguard. The electronics aren’t perfect either. The motor recognizes the pedal movement late and does not immediately pull in with full force. This takes away some of the driving pleasure of the Ado A20F+. In addition, it is not approved for European road traffic.

Still, the Ado A20F+ isn’t bad. His biggest problem: there are folding e-bikes with thick tires that are significantly better. The Laotie FT100 deserves a special mention here. This bike is also not allowed on European roads. However, if you prefer to be on forest trails anyway, you will find your ideal, foldable companion in the Laotie FT100.

Ado A20F+: Price

The Ado A20F costs around $1399 from Ado Banggood and Alibaba for only $540. Here we show the Fiido M1 Pro in a price comparison. Although the e-folding bike is a bit more expensive, it is superior to the Ado A20F+ in many respects.

Eleglide S1 Plus Review: Really One of Best Electric Scooters on Market?

With the beautiful days coming, here is the opportunity to switch to soft mobility with the use of scooters and other electric bikes. In the case of scooters, I decided to test models that are as well suited to the streets of our cities as to the roads of our countryside with a good battery life.

After the Navee N65, I set my sights on the Eleglide S1 Plus. The reason for this choice? Comfort with 10-inch wheels, 45 km of theoretical battery life and a low price of less than $350.

A DISTRIBUTOR BRAND

The Eleglide brand specializing in urban mobility, electric bikes and scooters, belongs to the Geekbuying or Alibaba stores.

Marketing your own products is a way to optimize logistics costs and margins in this period when everything is becoming more expensive. It is also an ability to better control quality through this direct relationship with the consumer.

Eleglide relies on factories that produce electric scooters by improving existing models. In the case of the S1 Plus I cannot confirm who it is but there is a great visual similarity with the smaller wheeled MiniMotors Speedway Mini Pro Lite.

The Eleglide S1 plus is an electric scooter model that targets consumers looking for generous autonomy with a controlled budget.

Most models sold in the $300 announce 25 km of theoretical distance which in fact translates to around 15 km. Too weak for many people who do not want to put themselves at risk between two recharges.

The Eleglide S1 Plus competes on paper with models like the Xiaomi Mi Electric Scooter Pro 2, the Navee N65 in the best known but also brands like MiniMotors, Egret.

Here is a little comparison between this model and two major competitors.

ALMOST READY TO USE

The Eleglide scooter is delivered in a suitably protected double box.

Coming out of the box, the S1 Plus is almost ready to use. Even the handlebar is assembled.

You just have to screw his meter.

A User manual is provided which is always good to have.

The charger is a classic 42V at 2 Ah.

Visually, the Eleglide S1 PLUS scooter has nothing that “stands out”. The design/aesthetics are very classic with the use of plastic and metal and visible screws.

Wiring is simple and clean.

Maintenance, such as opening to access the battery and the controller, appears easy.

In the somewhat innovative points that I appreciated upon unpacking is the handlebar folding system. The side parts are bent for a reduced final lateral bulk.

Folding is easy via a lever. There seems to be some play when it is unfolded at the handlebar/deck connection, but this is due to a final blockage which only occurs when a user is positioned on the deck.

The handlebar is height adjustable from 98 to 118cm. It is a plus to adapt to all morphologies.

For the weight, it is reasonable given the service/battery: 16 kg.

GOOD LEVEL EQUIPMENT

The Eleglide S1 Plus scooter may be inexpensive, but it is still well equipped.

Its on-board computer is a 1.38-inch color screen module. It equips several other brands/models on the market.

It is a bit special because it incorporates the throttle rod on the side. Hidden underneath is a surprise USB socket.

This is enough to recharge a smartphone as a backup.

Eleglide incorporates a second screen that informs about the battery voltage and therefore about the remaining autonomy.

Interesting to understand the true level of residual charge provided you have the table below in mind for a 36v battery.

And yes the battery does not give anything at the approach of 30Ah!

On this module, an ignition key allows commissioning or locking. This may deter some thieves.

The front and rear lights are powered by the battery. The rear light indicates braking in progress for safety.

The position of the front light just above the wheel is not optimal. I would have preferred it to be at the level of the handlebars to better illuminate from a distance.

To be 100% compliant with the legislation, you must add side deflectors yourself.

Braking is by disc on the rear wheel. There are no eABS type brakes on the front wheel which incorporates the motor.

ON THE ROAD

Before driving, remember to check the tire pressure.

The Eleglide electric scooter is one of the most comfortable I have tested. This is to the credit of the wheels which are both wide (10 x 2.25 inches) and inflatable.

Inflatable wheels are better able to compensate for bumps in the road than solid ones. They are also safer on wet roads.

However, the risk of a puncture must be kept in mind.

A front suspension system is present but difficult to confirm how much it affects comfort.

The foot platform is 19 cm wide. The backing is non-slip.

The accelerator does not work when stationary. It is necessary to reach 6 km for the engine to start up. This is a security system that I appreciate. Electric bikes and scooters should never move forward just by pressing a button. This also has an interest in the battery which is less stressed during start-up.

Once the scooter is launched, you can adjust the speed via the acceleration trigger. Contrary to what I could have expected due to the good 400 watt motor, this acceleration remains progressive, even with a little latency between the support and the reaction.

The maximum speed of the S1 Plus scooter then depends on the mode selected via the counter, i.e. 9, 18 or 24km max.

The tests were carried out on country and city roads with approximate quality pavement with gradients and descents.

MORE THAN 30KM OF BATTERY LIFE

The brake works properly and stopping is assured with a reasonable distance. Again, we must thank the wide tires for gripping the road well.

For the coasts, I conducted the experiment on the famous road which has an average drop of 9.7% worth of a mountain.

Here, everything will depend on your weight. If you oscillate around 60 kg, the Eleglide scooter will succeed in propelling you with a reduced speed of 12 km.

If you weigh a lot more, there will be no alternative but to help him with his feet.

And autonomy now? With a 12500 mAh 36V battery, the Eleglide S1 Plus leaves with a good reserve of energy. The manufacturer promises in theory 45 km of distance but it must be considered that this measurement was made with the ECO mode, on a circuit, in good weather with a user with reduced weight (< 70 kg).

A classic rule is to take only 2/3 of this theoretical autonomy for reality, which corresponds to 30 km here. That’s what I was able to verify. This is well above all electric scooters at this price point.

IN THE TOP ELECTRIC SCOOTER 2022

With a price of only $335 at Alibaba, stock Europe, the Eleglide S1 Plus electric scooter is undoubtedly one of the best value for money of 2022.

Of honest manufacturing quality, it combines comfort and above all autonomy for long journeys without having to recharge. Its reasonable weight of 16 km allows it to be carried around by hand in transport.

Verdict of Eleglide S1 Plus

The Eleglide S1 Plus scooter is not the sexiest in its category, but it has many advantages given its reduced price. First of all, there is the comfort provided by its large inflatable wheels, then it’s great battery life of 30 km minimum, which is rare on the market.

The strong points:

  • Good battery life
  • Serious design
  • Comfortable
  • Dual screen
  • The price

To be improved:

  • No side deflectors
  • Front light position

Navee N65 Review: Amazing 10-inch Off Road Electric Scooter!

Navee N65 Review: Amazing 10-inch Off Road Electric Scooter!

Electric scooters, I have passed under my feet for a few years. Each time, I had to test them in an urban environment because of their comfort or suspension which does not adapt to my country roads. Not to mention the always limited battery life which prevents in all serenity from making multiple round trips between my home and the station located 6km away for example.

It is in this context that I tested the latest Navee N65 electric scooter. It interested me because of three major points: an ultra-robust design with 10-inch inflatable wheels for comfort and also an announced “battery life” of 65km.

Even if the value is optimistic and will depend on the weight of the pilot, the type of road or the temperature, it is nevertheless more than double what the scooters that we usually find on our shelves offer.

In terms of price, the Navee N65 is also interesting. It will have been launched at less than $600 with better prices around $555.

Less expensive models at Darty arrive quickly around these prices.

The Navee N65 aims to compete with models priced above $800.

DESIGN

The BRIGHTWAY Navee N65 first became known via the crowdfunding site Xiaomi Youpin on which it raised more than 430,000 EUR, a sign of the interest of the proposal. It has joined the Xiaomi ecosystem without looking like the Chinese giant’s scooters.

The N65 electric scooter arrives ready to use in its box, accompanied by its charger and documentation that includes French. It is very suitably protected. There is no assembly required because even the handlebars are assembled. The folding system designed by Navee makes it possible to have the handlebars horizontal to the platform.

Right out of the box, the Navee N65 exudes robustness. It is indeed an original product that does not seek to imitate the competition or even use standard parts as often.

At all levels, you have the demonstration:

  • At the level of the front stem with a wide fork that leaves no doubt about the solidity of this part. Navee announces a user weight of up to 120 Kg.
  • On the innovative folding system with a rotation of the handlebars
  • On the quality of the front and rear lighting which flashes when braking
  • On the integration of a large screen for piloting with a smartphone application
  • On the cable path that the manufacturer has sought to hide as much as possible
  • On the mudguards which are reinforced which allows you to place your foot on them without risk if you wish.

Even the bell is integrated at the brake level which I have never seen.

The platform to put your feet on is very non-slip with a quality rubber coating.

The charging pad is located at the front well protected.

And of course, there are these large wheels, 10 inches in diameter and 3 inches wide, which immediately reassure you of their ability to handle bad roads.

The feeling is that of a product designed from A to Z with attention to detail and this is the first time that I have seen so much care.

The scooter is IPX4 certified and resistant to splashing water.

A POWERFUL ENGINE

This premium design of the Navee N65 scooter uses a lot of aluminum to which must be added a large 48v 12.5Ah (600Wh) lithium battery.

It is therefore not a featherweight with 23.5kg on the scale. It is that of a small folding bike. For those who will have to carry it over long distances, this is a point of vigilance.

The motor chosen by Navee is a 500 W which compensates for this overweight.

For the electric assistance to be implemented, it is necessary to reach 4 km/h for safety. The change of mode is simply done via a mini remote control remote from the on-board computer.

The speed is regulated via a trigger.

The modes allow a speed of 15, 20 and 25 km/h. The speed is limited to a maximum of 25 km/h in order to comply with European regulations. For information, the model sold in the United States can assist up to 32 km/h.

There is also a 5 km/h pedestrian mode when you have to walk beside it.

The manufacturer announces the possibility of climbing ribs of 25%. I did not have this opportunity to test but I think that only the lightest of us would manage to pass this type of hill.

As for the announced battery life of 65 km, you should know that it was calculated with a driver of 75 Kg, on a flat road with the eco mode of 15 km/h.

In my tests, I exceeded 37 km on standard terrain roads without worrying about speed. This is much more than my models given for 25 km of possible distance with which I only travel 14 km. I will have to continue my evaluation to refine these figures.

It takes 6-8 hours for a full charge.

RELATIVELY COMFORTABLE

The Navee N65 has no suspension like some models but this is compensated by the use of wide inflatable tires. It is not suitable for rough roads.

The platform for placing the feet is 17 cm wide which allows the feet to be placed in parallel for whoever wishes.

Braking is very effective. It is an E-ABS brake at the front associated with a disc brake at the rear which does not block.

Count about 5 meters to stop on dry ground if your speed is 25 km/h.

The Navee N65 scooter is equipped with an energy recovery system during braking to slightly recharge the battery.

At night, the lighting is efficient and clearly visible.

If I have to find a defect, I will report the height of the platform from the ground. You have to be careful in the event of a pothole or bump in the road because you could rub, especially at the level of the stand.

A MOBILE APPLICATION TO LOCK IT

Navee offers a Go Navee mobile application for iOS and Android smartphones. This application displays the current speed, the selected mode, the battery level as well as the mileage. Given the availability of a large screen with the same information, this is not essential.

It is more interesting for its possibility of blocking the scooter via a code. It will of course be a small consolation in case of theft to know that no one will be able to use it.

If you are looking for a robust and high-performance electric scooter and are ready to carry its 23.5 kgm from time to time, the Navee N65 is the best choice of 2022 with a great battery life and an unfailing robustness.

If you are looking to buy this product at the best price, I urge you to read my current good plan: Electric scooter Navee N65, the 2022 reference at $555 EU stock.

Verdict of Navee N65:

For those looking for a robust electric scooter, well equipped with good battery life, the Navee N65 is one of the best choices on the market in terms of value for money.

The strong points

  • Robustness
  • Different from the competition
  • Large inflatable wheels
  • Large screen and mobile app
  • Large mileage possible
