ADO A20 XE: Design and Equipment

In fact, we’ve previously tested the ADO A20F, the first iteration of the wheel. Although this model was a pedelec and there were only minor modifications, it lacked a CE label at the time.

The bicycle is 174 cm in length, 53 cm at the handlebars, and 120 cm in height. Of course, it can be folded down to become a folding bike, shrinking to 98 x 45 x 77 cm. Even when folded, it is not lightweight at 30 kg and difficult to travel. The 20 x 4 inch tires’ thickness is particularly noticeable. The wheel is also offered with smaller tires as the ADO A20.

The bicycle is sent folded up in a big package rather than completely constructed. Attaching the handlebars, saddle, pedals, and stand still is required, but the provided instructions make this clear. Asking for assistance while taking the bike out of the box is a good idea, but other than that, construction is simple.

The construction of the extra luggage rack is not properly explained. I was still able to connect it with the aid of some photographs, and it appears that I did it correctly as so far it has held up. Then, to make sure it is always visible, the rear light should be moved from the saddle to the luggage rack.

I didn’t observe anything odd during the construction process, either good or bad. The bike was undamaged and stored nicely, and installation was simple. Other than that, you may start driving right away. The brakes and tires just need a little air.

ADO A20 XE: Motor and Driving

The engine has a 250 watt output. As was already indicated, this particular model of the bike only has pedal support for speeds up to 25 km/h, not a fully electric drive. Therefore, the 10.4 Ah battery should have a range of up to 80 kilometers. ADO specifies a charge time of 4 to 6 hours. The values appear to be accurate because I never left the battery plugged in for six hours and it was always full after charging. If you take the battery out of the bike, it may be charged separately.

Additionally, the A20F XE is outfitted with everything required to be operated on public roads. There are two disc brakes, which may have been initially set a touch too loosely but can be easily tightened. The top speed, which I already indicated, is 25 km/h, after which the motor support stops and you must pedal on your own.

The bike’s wide tires make it primarily suitable for off-road riding. It drives well here too, albeit it’s nearly a little bit wasted in inner-city traffic. In order to effectively place your feet on the ground when seated on the saddle, the saddle and handlebars need to be adjusted a little too high in my opinion. I’m 1.78 tall, so you might have less of a problem if you have very long legs.

Nevertheless, especially during rush hour, I can’t really appreciate the pedelec in the city center. At every traffic signal in central Cologne, there are so many other bicycles and walkers that you can scarcely use the pedal assistance because there isn’t enough room to truly be able to speed. I’m concerned about someone kicking their heels directly in front of me, even on the lowest setting. Maybe it’s just that I’m not accustomed to riding pedelecs in general. However, I didn’t particularly enjoy the stop-and-go driving between red lights and having to constantly watch my speed. After all, despite the weight, starting off without pedal help in the lower gears is very simple.

When you have room, it’s different. Then, with just a little effort on your part, you can also switch to the maximum setting and let the motor propel you to 25 km/h in a matter of seconds. You can fully enjoy the drive assistance, especially on inclines, and driving is definitely more relaxing. In Cologne, there aren’t many hills (and on my way to work).

Once you leave the asphalt and cobblestones, the large tires are much more obvious. It’s a lot of fun to drive on any kind of terrain, whether it’s gravel, a dirt road, or the forest floor. I think long bike trips outside of major cities are when the pedelec shines.

ADO A20 XE: Conclusions

I don’t have many troubles with the ADO A20F XE, and I’m generally happy with it. The battery lives up to its claims, the frame appears sturdy and securely welded, and the riding comfort is excellent on any surface thanks to the wide tires. It is also safe to use in Germany, which is not always the case with Chinese-made electric bikes (and e-scooters).

Although the weight is a drawback, you barely notice it while driving. Only when you move the bike in a car does the ability to fold the bike actually make sense. Simply be aware of what you’re signing up for. The ADO A20 XE with the smaller tires should at the very least be taken into consideration if you’re searching for a pedelec that is as light and economical as feasible. However, you can look at the A20F XE if you want a pedelec with big tires.

Eleglide Coozy: Design and Build Quality

Instead of the typical khaki box that almost all manufacturers use, Eleglide uses a white box.

The box is stunning and has prominent characteristics written on the front, making for a wonderful unwrapping experience. All the contents are shielded by thick cushions. The scooter, a power adapter, an Allen key, an expanded nozzle adapter, screws, a tire, and an instruction booklet are all included in the box.

The Scooter Pro 2’s fundamental layout largely carries over into the Eleglide Coozy. The scooter is 1130mm in height and is little under 1210mm length. The deck is 190mm broad, which is a bit narrower than models like the Ninebot Max but still provides plenty of room for most feet.

It is far lighter than many others on the market, including the Mi Pro 3, which weighed 18.7kg. Although it has a smaller battery, which will save weight, it still has a range of 50 kilometers.

Although the design is identical to that of the previous model, Eleglide is now employing blue as an accent color rather than their signature orange. Gravity Grey and Onyx Black are the two colors that are offered for the scooter. The remainder of the scooter looks the same, is the same size, and I still have the same issues with the little board. The deck is big enough for someone with small feet, but not for someone my size.

The quick lock bracket is one brand-new feature. To prevent inadvertent use, this has a safety catch that must be raised before opening. Despite this, it still folds rapidly and easily in three clicks. The Eleglide Coozy can be folded to a height of about 516 mm, which is still quite portable despite not being as flat as models with a lower bracket. The only other color on the black variant is the brilliant blue brake lines, which can be seen on the sides of the front and back wheels. The scooter appears quite attractive, and this actually functions very well.

The handlebar will be the same; the accelerator is on the right, while the bell and brake are on the left. We have a large, bright screen in the middle. The screen’s brightness caught me off guard; everything was clearly visible in the middle of the day.

Since the initial generation, Eleglide scooters have proven reliable. The first generation offers greater strength and a longer lifespan thanks to its aviation-grade aluminum construction. Weak tires that punctured easily from tire-to-tube friction were a prevalent issue with older scooters. However, Eleglide is employing tires and tubes that are stronger and better this time.

Although not overly noticeable, it’s unfortunate that the brake lines protrude from the side rather than continuing into the body. Additionally, it appears like the rear disc brakes have been left without any protection at all, probably to reduce weight. The wheel arch is instead strengthened by two thin metal strips. These do flex if the wheel arch is under too much pressure, such as when one is standing on it, but they quickly recover.

Eleglide Coozy: Motor and Driving

According to Eleglide, the Coozy has a 350W motor with a 540W maximum power output. Although 540W seems a touch excessive, the acceleration and power delivery are outstanding. The scooter travels at a 25 km/h rate. I believe the scooter is capable of more, but EU rules are holding it back.

A clear visual representation of all critical information, including your speed, battery life, and drive mode, is provided by the LED display panel on the handlebars. Additionally, it indicates whether your headlights are on, whether you are Bluetooth-connected to your phone, and whether the scooter has been locked. The single power button can also be used to switch between drive modes and turn on the headlights with a single stroke.

Your right thumb should be near to the accelerator lever, and your left thumb should be next to the bell. The rear disc brake and electronic brake are both engaged by a single brake lever on the left.

Smooth riding is experienced. 10 inch tires offer a smooth ride and effective shock absorption.  Those pneumatic tires, though, are unquestionably a benefit. The wheels are somewhat small at 10 inches, but the air-filled tires, which come with inner tubes, provide a considerably smoother ride than larger run-flat or solid tires. The scooter includes a spare tire and inner tube in the box in case you have a flat. Although it may not be as practical as run-flat or solid tires, the ride is much smoother on rough roads.

On the Eleglide Coozy, you have a choice of three driving settings: pedestrian mode, which is limited to 3mph, ordinary drive mode, which gets you up to 12.4mph, and sport mode, which gets you to the maximum 15.5mph top speed.

The scooter automatically increases its power while in pedestrian or walking mode to enable moving it easier without having to grip the throttle. This is actually very helpful because you encounter some motor resistance while attempting to push it with the scooter off. Although the top speed isn’t all that much higher, the conventional driving mode is useful if you want to keep your speed down. I usually stick with the sport option.

Eleglide Coozy: Battery and Range

The scooter’s 450Wh battery allows a 75kg person to travel 50-55 kilometers on it. The tested range is also rather impressive; in the city, with my 90-kilogram weight, bumps, numerous starts and stops, and a small uphill ride, I was able to travel 45-50 kilometers on a single charge.

With a range that is more than adequate for the majority of commutes and a charging time of only 5.5 hours, you can quickly charge it at work or in the evenings when you return home, if necessary. According to the specs, the battery should survive for 500 cycles, which means that even if you charge it twice a week, it would still last for over five years.

Additionally, the battery is protected from short circuits, overcurrents, overcharging and discharging, and undervoltage auto-sleep.

Eleglide Coozy: Conclusions

The Eleglide Coozy is a fantastic little scooter that comes equipped with all the functionality you require while being portable and light enough to take when necessary. Thanks to the air-filled tires, it not only feels solid and well-made but also provides a rather smooth ride.

For whom is this scooter intended? The ideal scooter for first-timers and city commuters. If you require something that complies with safety laws, this is an excellent match for expert users. The best urban electric scooter, in my opinion, just got better, especially given its ideal pricing, abundance of attachments, and enormous popularity. It is one of the most popular items from 2022 and 2023.

It’s one of the greatest alternatives available for what is essentially a mid-range scooter in terms of pricing. More speed can be had for a higher price, but with that speed comes a lot more weight, which makes carrying your scooter more difficult.

DYU R1: Design and Build Quality

I was instantly at a loss for how to elevate the handlebar stem after I was freed from the constraints of the polystyrene waste and the roughly a dozen tie-wraps. Following the English construction instructions sequentially would have severed a brake cable because they are at most rudimentary. Fortunately, I caught sight of the handlebar rotation that had occurred while packing or during the trip, causing the brake line to become taut. The handlebar was easily raised into place by rolling it back into place with a flip of the fast release clasp, which left adequate slack in the line. I then fastened the pedals and secured everything. I then put the battery on charge.

Additionally, the rear disc brake has a clever tiny lockdown that stops the rear wheel from rotating. This implies that nobody can take off on your bike. Sure, they could load it into a truck, but it would at least lessen the chances of someone stealing an opportunity after seeing a nice-looking bike while passing by.

Speaking about attractive, the design has a few interesting elements. The tail lights are integrated into the rear dropouts, which makes the e-bike appear much more upscale. The black R1 looks rather great when it is assembled. Although the $3,499 Brompton Electric is more iconic, its folding mechanism is superior. DYU R1 e-bikes can outfit a family of five for less than the cost of a single GoCycle GXi, however they aren’t as stylish or cutting-edge as a GoCycle.

DYU R1: Motor and Driving

As long as you stay in the bike lanes when riding a city bike, the pace feels reasonable. Expect will not be flying off the line or through the air on any significant leaps because the motor is just 250W. Although the performance is adequate, this is hardly a rocket. In the bike lane, a hipster on a fixie will definitely pass you, but at least you’ll be peddling much more comfortably.

However, given that DYU chose to adhere to the 25 km/h restrictions set by Europe and Asia, its peak speed isn’t exceptionally fast (15.5 mph). I fiddled with the display settings, but I wasn’t able to quickly discover a method to get more speed out of it.

During my first ride, it rode better than I had anticipated, and I couldn’t stop grinning. The R1 has a top speed restriction of 25 km/h (16 mph), but that’s okay because it was designed for European city commuters. Just like the DYU D4, the R1 speed limit may be overridden with a cheat code.

The R1 has a throttle that doesn’t require any pedaling at all and three pedal-assist settings. I found that Pedal-Assist Mode 3 (Max) best complemented my aggressive riding style. Even in the lowest pedal-assist levels, the motor does whine, but it’s not horrible (I’ve definitely heard worse), and the power delivery may occasionally seem jerky. That’s because the R1’s power delivery is slowed down by using a cadence sensor rather than a more costly torque sensor. If you don’t mind your quads doing the work, the seven-speed Shimano transmission allows for rapid launches off the line and speeds far in excess of 25km/h.

What is it, then, if it’s not an e-bike for traveling quickly or far? I think this e-bike makes a terrific little runabout for the city. When it comes to charging, the integrated battery in the seat post is easy to remove, and if you don’t want to carry the battery inside, you can lock it to the bike (and again, prevents someone from stealing your seat). The seat post lock’s sole drawback was that it might be tricky at times to line up the lock with the pin exactly. In some situations, it took a few seconds of raising or lowering the fast release lever before the locking pin located and placed itself.

The cruise control ultimately activates when the throttle is held down, but only after the vehicle achieves the top motor-assisted speed. After then, you may let go of the button and simply enjoy the trip. You may cycle more quickly, and when you slow down again, the motor will finally turn back on. It’s a really useful function.

DYU R1: Battery and range

No matter how great the trip is, a 180Wh battery just won’t last that long. With pedal assistance, 25 km (15 miles) is a respectable distance (keep in mind that there is no throttle here, so the bike is really pretty efficient), but you could get less if you consistently use the strongest pedal assist setting. So, if it’s feasible, I’d want to see a somewhat larger battery.

DYU R1: Conclusion

The R1 is affordable for an e-bike you may use every day at $729.99, but it’s still a sizable investment that raises expectations for durability. Sadly, here is where I have some reservations. After only two weeks of testing, I already have an issue with the saddle: despite tightening it as far as I can, everytime I hit a bump, the seat quickly and uncomfortable tilts upward a notch. Additionally, the mount is not a stock component I can purchase from any old bike store because the saddle is built into the battery.

But for $999, what more could you possibly want? My opinion is that a torque-sensor e-bike with integrated lights, front suspension, a rack and fenders, a practical seat post battery, and other cool security measures is a good value. No matter how reasonably priced, the DYU R1 won’t work for you if you want a quicker or more potent e-bike.

However, DYU could have what you’re searching for if all you want is a cheap, basic e-bike for the city that won’t take up too much space in an apartment but has more features than the most budget Amazon e-bikes.

Making warranty claims on the motor, controller, and electronics of the DYU R1 as a newcomer to the global market and obtaining replacement parts would probably be difficult even under the best of circumstances. Since there is a shortage of the widely used generic parts for e-bikes like the R1 and couriers are overburdened with delivery, the pandemic further complicates matters. On my test R1, I’ve learned to deal with the items that require maintenance, but if I had spent $729 and had support needs for a bike that was just two weeks old, I may not be so at ease.

Although the bike’s design is a little peculiar, it functions effectively and is reasonably priced. That’s what I want in an electric bike—something that offers me more than I anticipate at a fair price.

It won’t be able to compete with the expensive e-bikes, but it isn’t aiming to. It just seeks to complete the task, and it does it admirably.

ZHENGBU K6S: Design and Built Quality

I put the strong K6S to the test on Sydney’s rough streets and discovered it to be a dependable, well-made bike that handled a variety of varied surfaces, including asphalt, grass, mud, and walkways.

After starting to pedal manually, starting the electric trip is easy—you just crank the right handle toward yourself like a motorbike. It moves with precisely the correct amount of force, making it much simpler to outperform vehicles when pedaling on roadside bike lanes.

The ZHENGBU K6S’s engine is the standard 500w model that we have been accustomed to with ZHENGBU’s most recent electric bikes. Overall, it’s a good engine that can guarantee a top speed of 25 km/h and operate in pedal-assist and fully electric modes. However, keep in mind that using the accelerator on an electric bike is prohibited in Italy.

It can go up to 25 km/h without pedaling, which is a delightfully quick speed. It is much faster if you combine the two; I discovered that it might go above 30 kilometers, especially while going downhill.

The bike tends to struggle slightly while going uphill at first, but after some frantic pedaling, it flies along effortlessly.

himano 6-speed exchange is accurate, quick, and highly intuitive. It is operated by a click button placed next to the dreaded accelerator on the right side of the handlebar; however, in the ZHENGBU K6S, it is built right into the right handlebar grip.

Although the tires offer great grip on rocky surfaces, I wouldn’t use them for serious mountain riding.

Additionally, it contains a secret air pump under the seat that is useful for in-transit tire inflation. After several long rides, I had to pump my tires rather regularly, but having the built-in hand pump—which was a little difficult to use—meant that this wasn’t a major problem. If you’re looking to fill it up more quickly, I’d advise utilizing larger air pumps.

Moreover, there are two brakes on each handle, which at first felt a little flimsy and noisy. But with a few changes, it seemed much more safe.

Driving the ZHENGBU K6S is enjoyable and the saddle is really comfortable even on less consistent road conditions once you get used to the lack of a torque sensor and the slightly odd pedal assist starts. The 20-inch wheels are noticeable and provide riders with a sense of stability that is considerably different from what is conveyed by versions with smaller wheels.

Although it feels like there aren’t enough shock absorbers, riding this bike in the city will be more than pleasant with the correct tire pressure, soft seat, and comfy form.

ZHENGBU K6S: Battery and Range

The ZHENGBU K6S’s lithium-based battery should last for 500 charge cycles, around 80 km with just light pedal assistance, and 50 km in full electric mode, the manufacturer claims. But, as you probably well know, the term “battery life” refers to a range of values depending on a variety of variables. For example, in my own experience, I have traveled approximately 27 km with the most help, about 50 km with just minimum aid, and about 20 km using only the accelerator. 

However, if you do rely heavily on the motor while riding, the battery will drain rather rapidly.

It is easy to charge since you can either use the connector on the body to charge the bike in close proximity to an outlet or remove the small, 2.5kg battery.

Thanks to an external power source and a connection that is obviously too short in my opinion and connects to a door that is positioned laterally, charging takes place over the course of around 5 hours (for a full charging cycle). With the use of a key, the battery pack may be taken out and recharged separately from the chassis.

ZHENGBU K6S: Conclusions

We didn’t do an exhaustive test, but we can tell that at an average speed of 15 km/h and our weight of roughly 65 kg, we traveled about 20 kilometers before the battery’s capacity fell to half.

We repeatedly turned it on and off, traveled uphill and downhill, and generally tried to reach the third speed setting’s maximum speed. Stay at the second speed setting if you want to extend your range a bit.

We used it after hours to test the lights, and we were really satisfied.

We were able to reach a high speed of 18.5 mph when riding the X7 Max on a flat surface and in alternate directions to counteract the effects of the wind.

Although the Turboant X7 Max is capable of reaching a high speed of 20 mph, the actual top speed varies according on the rider’s weight, the terrain, and other factors.

It’s vital to keep in mind that the battery consumption will be higher while you travel at top speed, which will significantly shorten your riding distance.

On the negative side, I discovered that the 350W motor would progressively lose speed on any incline that was steeper than a gentle one, finally coming to a stop on really steep hills. It’s hardly unexpected that the scooter can only climb inclines of 15 degrees, according to Turboant.

Turboant X7 Max: Battery and Range

Gocycle G4: Design

The G4’s mono construction not only keeps the fold small, but the stub axles allow you to repair punctures without removing a wheel. Although punctures aren’t all that common with hardened tires wider than two inches.

Gocycle G4: Motor and Driving

A 36V, 294Wh lithium-ion battery is housed inside the front aluminum frame portion and provides power to a patented G4drive 250W motor that is integrated into the front wheel hub. This may be removed when the bike is folded and charged separately from the bike via a tiny socket on the side of the frame.

Because the GoCycle is not a “hands-on” system, you must rely on the bike’s programming and speed/cadence monitoring for it to determine how much power you need. The freshly upgraded motor of the GoCycle offers greater power than the one from the previous generation.

However, if you need more of a lift while starting a climb or pulling away from traffic lights, a little bar-mounted button does let you override the aid.

The G4 is a very easy bike to ride. You can climb aboard, switch on the electricity, and leave whenever you please. The Gocycle app is necessary for getting the most out of the G4, though. You may spend many hours fine-tuning the features of the power supply from the motor once this is loaded on your phone, and you can also use it as a digital dashboard.

So here is the only one illustration of how carefully the Gocycle G4 was designed. Gocycle provides a pair of clever rubber straps to attach your phone to the handlebars because you’ll be using it as a digital dash, and there is a USB socket hidden beneath the bars.

For the G4, GoCycle does not provide a torque output, however the variable power output ranges from the equivalent of 20 Nm to about 70 Nm.

What will become immediately clear is how remarkable the G4 is.

However, because of how steep my neighborhood is, that amount includes 1,343ft (409m) of ascent. Even the longest commutes can be completed with a range of more than 50 km, and a three-hour charge time is excellent.

The G4 is steady even if it is quick. It boasts a full 1,065mm wheelbase, a loose 70-degree head angle, and a very slack 68-degree seat angle, which results in a large increase in saddle-to-bar distance when you extend the telescopic seatpost, ensuring a comfortable riding posture.

The torque sensor on the bicycle changes the degree of help in City mode based on how hard you are pedaling; the harder you ride, the more power the bicycle provides. It works similarly when you switch to Eco, however the motor doesn’t engage until the bike is putting out 250 watts of pedal force, whereas in City mode, just 100 watts are required to engage the G4drive.

You can only use the On Demand option with the Boost button to control when power assistance is used. Even better, you may design your own unique custom modes that specify the power levels for when the power starts working and how vigorously you need pedal to obtain maximum power.

When I frequently felt like I needed a little extra power, I just pressed the boost button located under my thumb under the left grip. When riding up hills or when you need to clear traffic when accelerating from stoplights, this rapidly applies full power and can be helpful. Additionally, it comes in useful when you fail to shift out of high gear when you stop; a fast click of the boost button gives the bike just the right amount of prod to get it moving swiftly.

The end effect is a ride that is very different from the jittery feeling that most small-wheeled folders are known for. It even accommodated my considerably shorter companion and me thanks to two seatpost extensions of differing lengths.

Gocycle G4: Conclusions

Because of the G4’s distinct, no-compromise design that is ideal for its function, I really, really appreciate it. Although it is lighter and more powerful than before, the price has increased as well.

This adds extra technology to the already cutting-edge G4 line with integrated running lights, a multicolored display, predictive automated gears, and a larger battery. The handlebar height may also be changed.

The most recent 2022 variants of the G4, which is a very competent motorcycle, provide substantially better value than earlier generations. It’s nice that lights and mudguards are included as standard equipment, and the model I rode had a front pannier attachment that is a terrific addition but costs an additional £150.

Security was my main concern with the G4. I am aware that the whole point of a folding bike is that you can bring it inside with you as opposed to locking it up outside. That isn’t feasible for a fast trip to the store, though. There is no place on the G4 where a lock may be passed through the frame due to its design.

Gocycle G4: Price and Where to buy cheaper? 

A folding bike is simply the ideal choice if you want a bike you can store indoors and live in a flat or tiny house. The G4 from Gocycle needs to be at the top of your wishlist if you’re looking for one of the best electric folding bike solutions. When folded, it can fit below a typical desk and weighs little under 17 kg, making it almost light enough to carry short distances.

The price increase from £3,399 when we initially requested the bike to its current price of £3,999 — while this does now include lights and mudguards, both of which I consider commuting requirements — wasn’t helpful in this regard.

The entrance Brompton Electric, for example, is almost £1,000 cheaper and even more smaller when folded than other alternatives. Other solutions are also lighter or more affordable. The Brompton, in contrast to the Gocycle G4, has less gears, manual rim brakes rather than fluid disc brakes, smaller wheels, and a harsher ride due to its poorer quality.

I purchased the Cyrusher XF900 Electric Fat Bike last year. In every respect, it is a monster-sized electric bike. Huge bars, large wheels, shocks, and a lot of back wheel power.

The bike is 4 inches wide, has enormously fat tires, and can travel over any surface.

The bike’s 750W Bafang engine, 1500W maximum power, and 48V 17AH battery enable it to go 62 miles at a speed of 28 mph (faster if the controller is modified).

Cyrusher is one of the businesses that has capitalized on this trend. Since 2015, they have been selling e-bikes on the global market and have established a reputation for themselves around the world. The XF900 is their newest product.

Cyrusher XF900: Design

Its first design attempts to mirror that of motorbikes, but I don’t think she entirely succeeded. It still has a few features, though, so it still gets a lot for her money. It is similar to the majority of other e-bikes in that it has an aluminum frame to provide the highest level of durability while minimizing weight.

With the Everest XF900, you can climb any mountain in your way. The Everest XF900 is capable of traveling wherever your travels lead you, whether you’re climbing actual mountains or simply traversing a metropolitan jungle. We started with the motorcycle-inspired design we adore and worked our way up from there.

The motorcycle-style double-crown front suspension fork, which is far more durable than a standard bicycle suspension fork and gives away the Cyrusher Everest XF900’s tough use, is immediately noticeable.

The bike’s subdued rear shock, which completes its full-suspension design, is far less striking.

Two Tektro hydraulic disc brakes bite down on 180 mm rotors to provide stopping power.

The suspension and the fat tires make it simple to attack barriers that a hardtail e-bike with 2-inch tires would never contemplate.

The front and rear suspensions are both middle of the road; they lack the top-tier components seen on e-bikes that cost almost twice as much. However, they work well enough for leisure riding, which is precisely what I wanted.

A 250 lumen headlight, an LCD display, and anti-puncture tire liners in these 4-inch fat Kenda Juggernaut tires are all standard equipment on each model.

Just one thing stopping my path was a set of derailleurs that were grabbing bushes and grass. Only a small number of e-bikes have several front chainrings, including this one. Although the 21-speed arrangement is intriguing, it seems superfluous.

The benefit of so those gears is primarily seen at the bottom end, where you may shift into lower speeds for greater torque while descending hills. With such a strong motor, though, you actually don’t need to go so low because you’ll already be rising more quickly.

The bike has 180/203 mm Star-Union complete hydraulic disc brakes on the front and back to help it stop. When the brakes are engaged, a sophisticated motor cutoff also exists.

The XF900 is unique in that it has full suspension as a ride. The XF900 incorporates a spring rear suspension that can withstand a hammering of 750 lbs, unlike other e-bikes that look to be all-purpose machines. Other bikes of this type don’t have a rear suspension because having one tends to reduce your pedaling efficiency. Specialized, a leading manufacturer of bicycles, is one example.

The front fork is a component of the suspension that also makes a design reference to motorcycles. But because there isn’t much information available, I assume it’s largely for aesthetic reasons. I’m not denying that it has suspension capabilities; I’m just not sure how useful, effective, or even required it would be for a bike of this type.

Cyrusher XF900: Motor and Driving

This beast can propel you along at 15 to 31 mph while continuously pumping out 750 W with occasional 1500 W peaks (24-49 kph). However, given that such speeds are obviously not intended for mountain riding, the rear suspension may have been dropped. 

Similar to the majority of e-bikes with 750W steady scores, the motor is sort of actually putting out a little bit over 1,000W peak, which ostensibly aids the bike in reaching its advertised top speed of 28 mph (45 km/h).

There are three modes.

  1. Standard bike mode (pedaling).
  2. A pedal-assist system that makes advantage of the powerful Bafang Motor.
  3. Absolute electric (throttle – like a motor bike).

In the last several months, we had taken a few bicycle trips, but they haven’t taken us too far from home. This time, I wanted to test the range. As previously indicated, Cyrusher claims that this bike can travel 62 miles, but in practice, that mileage is probably just around half that given that not every ride is on ideal flat terrain.

The bicycle is a perfectly competent road fighter and trail breaker at such speeds. On the trail, I don’t typically reach my peak speed, but on the wide road, I have the space I need to run quickly. Back on the hills, I consider it pretty dang fast if I reach a speed in the mid-20s.

By gradually opening the throttle and letting the bike go through the mud with one foot on the bank, I was able to maneuver the puddles. A little bit of balance was required because it was so slick. But in certain spots, the road was covered with enormous bramble thorns that were arm, knee, and ankle high, and one mistake meant being torn to shreds.

According to the chart, we still had 23 miles to travel after 2 miles of delight. There were quite a few lanes and gravel bridleways that wound through beautiful forests and farmlands, so it wasn’t all horrible, but there were also many muddy routes that wound up and down steep, slippery hills, which made our progress quite difficult.

This is due to how fast the Cyrusher XF900 is. It has a peak speed of around 28 mph (45 km/h), and can reach that speed either by pedaling or using simply the throttle. If an e-bike can go faster than 20 mph on the throttle, it is technically not a class 3 e-bike, but nobody stopped to question and I didn’t offer that information to anybody.

Finding the ideal cadence is also made simple by the enhanced granularity. Yet again, on such a strong e-bike, that just seems superfluous. Maybe the purists may like the extra speeds, but I mostly kept the bike in the highest gear the entire time.

Cyrusher XF900: Battery and Range

Along with a 13Ah (624 Wh) battery and a 17Ah (816 Wh) battery, there are other 48V Samsung battery options. 

When we arrived at our house, the battery had two out of five bars, or 40% of its capacity, which I found to be rather outstanding. Depending on the terrain and the electric mode we were in at the time, the status fluctuated throughout the journey. The battery status would dip to 1 or 2 bars while climbing steep slopes or through muck, but would immediately rise to 4 or 5 bars when the terrain was flat. This made a tiny bit of sense.

According to what I’ve read about the bike, riding in PAS 1 or 2 should allow for at least 40 miles of range, and those were the two modes we were utilizing.

But I never had the impression that the charge was running low, and I have no doubt that the bike could have easily traveled 30 miles or more if there hadn’t been any significant inclines.

The chart below shows how we ended the bike with some quite steep hills, which was not ideal considering how uncomfortable, annoyed, and exhausted we were.

Cyrusher XF900: Conclusions

I’ve only tested one Cyrusher e-bike so far, the Cyrusher XF650 (overview video below), but it was a fun, though little absurd, big tire e-bike. Cyrusher creates enormous, extravagant electric motorcycles at reasonable prices. They aren’t as high-quality as finer European e-bikes, but in terms of components, they seem to be on level with many of the major US brands.

The bumpers are as inexpensive as they get, but I understand that finding fat tire fenders on an e-bike with full suspension is a tough nut to crack. The great news is that because of the rear rack, the back doesn’t flap around too much. It becomes a little floppy in the front. This is inexpensive plastic for you.

But it kind of raises Cyrusher’s difficulty for them. There are several full-suspension fat tire e-bikes on the market, but this is one of the few that is truly priced to start around $2,000. And that’s quite amazing, especially when you consider the bike’s rapid pace and solid but not exceptional components.

The front lamp is great, but I’m annoyed about the back tail light. It isn’t your standard primary battery-operated e-bike light. Instead, it is a battery-operated saddle light. That has two primary drawbacks: if you frequently ride at night, the battery will need to be replaced, and if you load the back rack, the battery will become clogged. Additionally, I noticed that I occasionally clicked the button when I lifted the saddle to move the bike. It could run for hours during the day and run out of battery by the time I needed it at night if I didn’t realize that I had unintentionally clicked on the light.

Choosing the former results in a sale price of $1,999 while choosing the latter raises the cost to $2,499 The more expensive model also has a rack, fenders, and a rear LED taillight in addition to an upgrade from a 7-speed Shimano transmission to a 21-speed one. These accessories are optional for the less expensive mannequin.
