Electric scooters, I have passed under my feet for a few years. Each time, I had to test them in an urban environment because of their comfort or suspension which does not adapt to my country roads. Not to mention the always limited battery life which prevents in all serenity from making multiple round trips between my home and the station located 6km away for example.
It is in this context that I tested the latest Navee N65 electric scooter. It interested me because of three major points: an ultra-robust design with 10-inch inflatable wheels for comfort and also an announced “battery life” of 65km.
Even if the value is optimistic and will depend on the weight of the pilot, the type of road or the temperature, it is nevertheless more than double what the scooters that we usually find on our shelves offer.
In terms of price, the Navee N65 is also interesting. It will have been launched at less than $600 with better prices around $555.
Less expensive models at Darty arrive quickly around these prices.
The Navee N65 aims to compete with models priced above $800.

DESIGN
The BRIGHTWAY Navee N65 first became known via the crowdfunding site Xiaomi Youpin on which it raised more than 430,000 EUR, a sign of the interest of the proposal. It has joined the Xiaomi ecosystem without looking like the Chinese giant’s scooters.
The N65 electric scooter arrives ready to use in its box, accompanied by its charger and documentation that includes French. It is very suitably protected. There is no assembly required because even the handlebars are assembled. The folding system designed by Navee makes it possible to have the handlebars horizontal to the platform.
Right out of the box, the Navee N65 exudes robustness. It is indeed an original product that does not seek to imitate the competition or even use standard parts as often.
At all levels, you have the demonstration:
- At the level of the front stem with a wide fork that leaves no doubt about the solidity of this part. Navee announces a user weight of up to 120 Kg.
- On the innovative folding system with a rotation of the handlebars
- On the quality of the front and rear lighting which flashes when braking
- On the integration of a large screen for piloting with a smartphone application
- On the cable path that the manufacturer has sought to hide as much as possible
- On the mudguards which are reinforced which allows you to place your foot on them without risk if you wish.
Even the bell is integrated at the brake level which I have never seen.
The platform to put your feet on is very non-slip with a quality rubber coating.
The charging pad is located at the front well protected.
And of course, there are these large wheels, 10 inches in diameter and 3 inches wide, which immediately reassure you of their ability to handle bad roads.
The feeling is that of a product designed from A to Z with attention to detail and this is the first time that I have seen so much care.
The scooter is IPX4 certified and resistant to splashing water.
A POWERFUL ENGINE
This premium design of the Navee N65 scooter uses a lot of aluminum to which must be added a large 48v 12.5Ah (600Wh) lithium battery.
It is therefore not a featherweight with 23.5kg on the scale. It is that of a small folding bike. For those who will have to carry it over long distances, this is a point of vigilance.
The motor chosen by Navee is a 500 W which compensates for this overweight.
For the electric assistance to be implemented, it is necessary to reach 4 km/h for safety. The change of mode is simply done via a mini remote control remote from the on-board computer.
The speed is regulated via a trigger.
The modes allow a speed of 15, 20 and 25 km/h. The speed is limited to a maximum of 25 km/h in order to comply with European regulations. For information, the model sold in the United States can assist up to 32 km/h.
There is also a 5 km/h pedestrian mode when you have to walk beside it.
The manufacturer announces the possibility of climbing ribs of 25%. I did not have this opportunity to test but I think that only the lightest of us would manage to pass this type of hill.
As for the announced battery life of 65 km, you should know that it was calculated with a driver of 75 Kg, on a flat road with the eco mode of 15 km/h.
In my tests, I exceeded 37 km on standard terrain roads without worrying about speed. This is much more than my models given for 25 km of possible distance with which I only travel 14 km. I will have to continue my evaluation to refine these figures.
It takes 6-8 hours for a full charge.
RELATIVELY COMFORTABLE
The Navee N65 has no suspension like some models but this is compensated by the use of wide inflatable tires. It is not suitable for rough roads.
The platform for placing the feet is 17 cm wide which allows the feet to be placed in parallel for whoever wishes.
Braking is very effective. It is an E-ABS brake at the front associated with a disc brake at the rear which does not block.
Count about 5 meters to stop on dry ground if your speed is 25 km/h.
The Navee N65 scooter is equipped with an energy recovery system during braking to slightly recharge the battery.
At night, the lighting is efficient and clearly visible.
If I have to find a defect, I will report the height of the platform from the ground. You have to be careful in the event of a pothole or bump in the road because you could rub, especially at the level of the stand.
A MOBILE APPLICATION TO LOCK IT
Navee offers a Go Navee mobile application for iOS and Android smartphones. This application displays the current speed, the selected mode, the battery level as well as the mileage. Given the availability of a large screen with the same information, this is not essential.
It is more interesting for its possibility of blocking the scooter via a code. It will of course be a small consolation in case of theft to know that no one will be able to use it.
